I can't lie, the whole epicap idea felt like a cop out. I would've loved to hear Allen theorize a bit as Season 2 aired. The man must be busy, and I can respect that. Still looking forward to the proper recaps, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of redundant information by that point.

Honestly this is the best podcast about Severance that’s out there. It’s better than the official show podcast by Adam Scott and Ben Stiller. If you want to really get into the nitty gritty of theories, symbolism, and Easter eggs, which this show thrives on, this is the podcast for you.

Allen S is the best refiner we have in the entire Lumonverse. I’ve listened to and read tons of others but none come close to providing the depth of scrutiny or accuracy of analysis that Allen S delivers. Do yourself a favor and listen to ALL of his content…especially the amazing SEVERED Origins episodes found at the end of Season 1…they are as intense as they are brilliant.

Such a fun podcast for Severance fanatics. Allen provides an incredible amount of detail re: the Severance universe and the work that went into the show behind the scenes. Such a knowledgeable guy and I love that he doesn’t shy away from doing a seemingly arduous amount of research to give you multiple layers of context for just about every shot. Can’t wait for the S2 deep dive episodes! (I also find his sports commentator-esque voice to be uniquely engaging and comforting)

I love how quickly he goes through each episode, and yet gets in his own observations and a little snark! Can’t wait for the end of the season where he reviews the episodes in greater detail.

Has the world gone mad? This guy is reading this podcast to listeners like someone doing a radio advert or a newscaster reading the daily news. That no one has noticed this, and in fact have been praising this podcast for its audio, tells me people have spent too much time listening to AI narrated videos online. I might have enjoyed the content of this podcast if the guy who made it had not just read the entire podcast out without any natural inflection…The voice changes in pitch but it’s unrelated to what he’s saying/reading aloud. His inflection doesn’t match the words he’s saying. It’s hard to describe exactly but it’s truly unbearable to listen to. I can’t stand to hear it for more than a couple of minutes. Which is a bummer bc I’d love to get some of the details I missed watching the show.

I only found this pod after listening to the Ben Stiller / Adam Scott one and finding it kind of meh. This is everything I had hoped it would be! Allen is so thorough and enthusiastic in his unabashed love for the show, it’s really fun to listen. Thanks Allen S.!

then this is the podcast for you! I started listening to this at the beginning of Season 2. I was so engaged by all the attention to details of each scene that I have gone back to rewatch Season 1 from the beginning. I enjoy all the fun facts, “behind the scenes” info, and just getting another Severance fan’s perspective on what is going on in this show. Allen has so much knowledge to share, it completely changes how you watch the show after listening to his rewatches. Great work, thanks for sharing your knowledge Allen!

I love accompanying podcasts and listen to many. No other podcasts do this meaningful deep dive into all things specific to the show. His attention to edit details, art direction, prop choices, clues in the intentional messages left by the professionals, and reverence for the quality acting, character development, and story arc. This is the Gold Star for all other podcasters to follow for show recaps.

I love the show, I watched it, was hoping for some additional insight… but just listened to a verbal recap of a TV show? I’m not sure what the point is without some additional insight. All of these take always you get from just watching the show.

I absolutely love Alan S’s attention to detail!!

This should be the absolute gold standard for in-depth entertainment podcasts. I’m absolutely blown away by the host’s content and way of going through everything so clearly. The amount of thought and research is mind boggling. Plus his voice is so good, you’d think he was hired by a team of 50 researchers and writers to just do the speaking.

I belong to the tribe that finds Severance intellectually and emotionally enthralling and Allen Stare’s podcast is too good to be true. If you are obsessed with every single detail, and recognize that the acting is a depth and perfect pitch hard to rival in any medium—then Mr Stare is the guide you want. I find his podcasts not just better but heads and shoulders above the official podcast which, despite some great insights from Scott and Stiller, is a good deal of ramblin’ on. Thank you so much for enhancing my obsession!

I am so happy that I stumbled upon this podcast of one of my all time favorite shows!!! I rewatched season 1 before season 2 began and am glad I did that because I realized I had forgotten 70% of Severance due to all the details and nuances of the show. Listening to Allen’s skillful narration and notations makes me feel like I’m watching the show again for a 3rd time but giving me a completely different experience! I love this show and the passion of this podcast! ❤️❤️

Incredible detail and fantastic analysis. Allen does an excellent job painting a very detailed picture to enjoy. Unfortunately, it all turned sour for me once he interjected his irrelevant personal opinion into things, specifically about being horrified after looking up the definition of a “throuple.” I’m not in one (a duple is enough work!), but know others who are. Why Allen’s personal disgust with the concept has any bearing on the deep dive of such a fantastic show is beyond understanding. I don’t recall hearing such things from him before, and communicating his opinion of this issue is entirely unnecessary. He could have easily described Ms. Corbel’s perceived infatuation with both innie and outtie Mark without needing to declare his own moral high ground for us all to witness. It should go without saying that I fully support his right to have such an opinion. I just think it has no place in what used to be a great podcast. What a disappointment.

I have only listened to the show-specific eps so far, so this review is based on that. This recap podcast is entertaining and super-thorough while being well-paced. I appreciate that host Allen Stare gives IMDb info on every person who makes this show a success - I’m “that person” who always looks up the actors while I’m watching TV, so this bit of info is always fun to me. Plus he’s got a great podcast voice. Looking forward to his S2 eps.

This is an incredibly well researched and produced podcast. You can tell that Allan S is passionate about the show. By far the best television podcast I've consumed to date. Keep up the great work - I look forward to your coverage of Season 2.

I was looking for stuff to get pumped for the premiere of Severance S2 and happened upon this podcast. Initially pulled in by Allen S’ calm, steady voice and killer audio recording setup (seriously!) I quickly became hooked on the unique scene-by scene breakdowns, clever easter egg musings, show theories, and his obvious love for the show. Just excellent.

Allen S - you are my hero! Keep up the great work. I look forward to hearing your recaps of Season 2.

I watched Severence as it was first released, and was a fan. I assumed it was yet another great concept series that the Covid epidemic killed off. I found this podcast and I’m totally BLOWN AWAY! Listening to Allen S digest these episodes brings out like 10x the entertainment value! It’s true what they say, you haven’t actually even really watched this series until you’ve listened to this podcast! Now I can’t wait for season2!

We got into Severed about a year ago and this podcast has really made rewatches much more fun. We can’t wait for the in depth shows as we experience season 2!

Allen’s research into the production and writing of Severance is unmatched!

The audio production is spot-on. The background, the research, everything, is perfect. Serious time has been spent, and continues to be spent, as he goes through multiple rewatches, interviews, updates from Reddit and Facebook… absolutely perfect.

As someone who has rewatched the tv show multiple times, sought out all the conspiracy theories, and had endless discussions with others, I was beside myself when I found this podcast! The production quality, the pacing and structure, and the thoughtfulness of each episode is incredible. I binged the first dozen episodes in a few days and made sure to join the Patreon because this immediately became one of my favorites. Have recommended to all my friends (who I also coerced into watching Severance in the first place). Cannot wait for the Season 2 breakdown and am loving the origins episodes until then!

This is the best audio production of a show deep dive you are going to find. I highly recommend giving it a listen- even if Severance isn’t your favorite. Alan S.’s presentation technique is truly a work of art- seamlessly blending show details, backstory facts, performer insight, audio clips, commentary, film/production knowledge and humor. I can’t say enough how much I enjoy his work. I recommend trying one of his Origins episodes, where he explores the inspirations behind Severance. Try The Matrix, Truman Show, or my personal favorite “Office Space”. If you are a listener, do yourself a favor and listen! And if you are a Severance fan- well, what are you waiting for?! Time to refresh and catch up before Season 2. This is my first review, so thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I do.
