Look forward to the show every week
I’ve loved listening to the severance recaps even more than the severance podcast with Adam Scott and Ben stiller. The male host (sorry idk his name) is great and the woman host is fine but should talk about herself less. I’m so sad severance is over mostly because I will miss these recaps!!

    Loving the show!
Just found this podcast while looking for more Severance coverage and really like it! Such great discussion and the hosts have good energy. I listen to almost every Severance podcast, and this is a great new addition to my weekly rotation. I felt specifically compelled to leave a review after hearing the hosts discussing some of the reviews and went to read them myself. In my opinion, vulnerability and open discussion/acknowledgment of politics is *necessary* when analyzing a show like Severance! It is an inherently political show centered around themes of corporate control/greed and the real impact of that on regular people, which reflects the issues around class inequality we are grappling with every day. The best media/art sparks us to reflect and engage with real life stuff. Also, Sona- your voice is wonderful and anyone who has a problem with women’s voices and vocal fry could simply find a different podcast (or maybe a therapist) rather than spouting mean, sexist comments- I wouldn’t pay it any mind. Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to keep listening!

    Great
I can listen to this without spacing out. Other pods about these shows I find boring or too esoteric. For me Severance is hard to figure out, maybe I am dumb. The first season was pretty straight forward. The second season probably needs a second veiw. Yes, you can take dogs on trains. Thanks

    Good recap and analysis
Loving both the Severance and White Lotus coverage

    Pod Commentary
I actually like your political commentary and find it to be very relevant and appropriate when discussing shows like Paradise and White Lotus. You were just stating facts about the world we currently occupy. It would be weird to ignore it.

    Love the severance coverage
I love the detailed coverage of severance, I think it’s fun to get all the little bits on the pod I missed in my viewing. Really appreciate Sona sharing her personal experience related to Gemma’s episode, it gave a better insight I think than some other pods were able to offer . I also like that there’s a variation of viewing, someone a bit more casual with someone a bit more all in. Highly recommend!

    Sona’s Awful
They need to get rid of Sona. Extreme vocal fry, bad microphone and nothing to add. She completely misunderstands quite a bit, gives incorrect information and has zero insight. I can’t get through even one episode because of her, which is a shame because the male host is great. (FYI I’m a woman) Who hired Sona and why?

    Nearly perfect but...
Started listening as a companion pod for paradise. Love the show coverage and show opinions. I come to shows and pods of shows to escape the day to day reality. The host needs to stop showing his political hand. I can look anywhere to hear or read about the political climate. I don't need to hear which way an entertainment pod cast host leans politically

I wish you covered more shows!
I listen to a lot of podcasts, and I really enjoyed listening to you both for my first time. I stumbled upon you looking for White Lotus recaps. If you covered more shows I would totally listen! I might have to try Severance…

    The host sneaks in politics
I unfollowed the hosts other pod and I didn’t realize it’s him in this one too until I heard him sneak in politics.
  • Not happy with update.
    great show - terrible audio
hi. your both very insightful and i enjoy what you have to say about the agency. still the audio for the woman host keeps getting faded down and it’s distracting. give her equal volume!

    Good discussion, uneven preparation
I liked the commentary of the episode I watched. That said, I was a bit flummoxed by how the female host just said with a shrug she didn’t know anything about the show’s star actor or anything he’d ever been in. A five minute Google would go a long way before recording

    Great Show
I really enjoy the opening banter between the host and cohost. It’s like they are in my living room chatting.

    The female co-host…
Contributes nothing to the show. This guy could have been talking to a six year old and it wouldn’t have made any difference

    No spoilers, only speculations
This podcast is great! Everything they speculate about gives you context for the following episodes. Not just is the content great, but the voices are like ASMR…I LOVE! Thank you for your coverage. Sorry about your bad review…they didn’t listen all the way through.

    Please announce spoilers !
There was no spoiler alert!! I jwanted to listen to your review of episode 5 and you talked what happens at the end of the book. Very disappointed as it’s my favorite show.

Why is Sonya on this podcast?
She asked nothing. All she says is Yes and Uh-huh

    Sona is unbelievably annoying
And does not add to the podcast

    Mixed Bag
I Listened to the show covering the first two episodes of Peripheral. They get most facts right but the woman on the pod is very annoying. She’s so hung up that when in the video game (2099) it looks different (filter?) from when the characters are at home in real world (2032) It bothers her so much she says she can’t connect with the show. Duh! Of course they should look different. WTH. And the pod woman’s voice….OMG. Will look for a different pod for update on Peripheral.

    TV Snobs
Content is good at times. But then they review some shows that they obviously don’t like so they give half hearted commentaries on those shows. Just don’t watch the show if you hate it so much. EJECT!
  • cjLambo
    Great content, poor production
I really like the content here, but I have to turn the volume up to max to barely hear the conversation. Deal breaker.

    Sona’s Nasal Voice Ruins It!
Sorry…I’m sure she’s a lovely person but Sona doesn’t have the voice for this work. She can’t help it so I feel bad for saying this but her voice is terrible. She sounds like parody… some kind of exaggerated version of Fran Drescher’s satirical character on “The Nanny.” Her nasal tones are so grating it is nearly impossible to focus on the content of her words. Find Sona a nice, off-microphone role and the pod will be great.

    Wonderful!
This podcast is so good! I’m so glad I found it.

    Thoughtful, insightful, unexpected
Victor is well-known for his insightful, deep interest in both music and movies. Formalizing these thoughts and conversations into a podcast is such a natural fit. At times quite considered and others very stream-of-consciousness, listening in on these intimate conversations and the differing opinions of the guests leads to some thought-provoking conversation and, at times, unexpected, enjoyable tangents.

    Really great podcast
The host of this podcast is very well versed in all sorts of media and he offers a very interesting perspective on music and the culture of that specific time period. After each episode of this podcast I feel I gain a better understanding of not only the music artists and their rise but also a wider and more varied music taste.
