Here is a person who has devoted himself fully to helping people achieve there goals of learning the Hebrew language in a truly spoken manner. The podcast is beautifully crafted, fun, and educational! Listeners will learn new useful words in a way which will allow them to be put into use and retained while learning important Israeli culture and context along the way. Guy takes one root (shoresh) each week and shows how it’s used in modern Hebrew. I try to listen first in Hebrew then in English. Entertaining, useful and always fun!

This show is amazing. Guy breaks everything down and I think it’s perfect for any level. I love how the songs are added in to fit the theme of the episode.

Great way to learn, thank you

Great short episodes to improve your Hebrew vocabulary.

This is a great way to focus on a new word or set of words each week. Guy does a great job delving into a particular root and all the useful derivations of the root word and making sense of how they come about. Also great to use popular music as examples of certain words or phrases.

This is a clear, informative and fun way to learn Hebrew. Guy is a great host. Just know that the actual content is only about 6-7 minutes with the rest the introduction and conclusion. But it’s enough of a bite of Hebrew every week.

I’m taking an online Hebrew class, but I have few opportunities to practice or be exposed to the real Hebrew spoken in Israel with the slang and more modern idioms.. Streetwise Hebrew are fun little snippets that give me a bit more exposure and very practical uses. It’s fun and short!

ok conversational. but intro is too long both the standard part and guy’s intro monologue. also unbalanced politically and too left leaning

Guy is an awesome host and I always learn something. I wish the episodes were a little longer actually! I started listening before a recent trip to Israel to brush up on my Hebrew and now I like to continue listening to make me feel like I’m going back soon!

This was a real find in language podcasts a couple years ago. Guy is a great host and breaks the lessons down into informal, conversational bites. I try to listen to the English version every week and will soon start listening to the Hebrew version, to expand my Hebrew ability.

It’s an easy and excellent way to expand your knowledge of Hebrew. Makes me miss Israel. Episodes are short, interesting and fun. Thank you, Guy and team!

What an original way to get “digestible tasty bites” of a language. Guy is so personable and has a sweet sense of humor. His language skills are great as are his teaching skills. Highly recommended.

I love this podcast. I listen to the free version and then the Patreon version in Hebrew. As time has gone by, my passive listening skills have grown significantly. Guy is a terrific teacher with a winning personality. Even with minor Hebrew skills, a listener can enjoy this.

The episodes are relevant to the current situation and he has helped to explain words being used during the war. I absolutely love listening to Guy talk about each root word and all the variations of it. It’s a great way to learn new Hebrew words, to listen to Hebrew being spoken and to hear amazing and beautiful Israeli music, which often he uses as examples of the usage of the featured words. I listen as often as I can!

Listening to Streetwise Hebrew everyday is such fun. It has become a part of my life and I love every second of it. Guy is so smart and entertaining and well informed about both the language and the culture of Israel. I often listen to the podcast several times during the week, sometimes repeating the sentences, sometimes concentrating on the new verbs, sometimes just trying to speak the Hebrew with a decent accent. Having the transcript is a huge plus, as is the links to other related podcasts and of course the songs and commercials and videos he references. So grateful to Guy and TLV1.

He covers so many subjects and gives us so much in 7 minutes. It moves fast and includes culture, grammar, songs and so much more. As a native Hebrew speaker who left Israel at a young age, this podcast has filled in many blanks in my mind about usage and colloquialisms so that now I have the confidence to understand “between the lines” when I visit. Your latest episode on Panim was a brilliant amalgam of old and new idioms for frequently used phrases. Genius!

This is a wonderful podcast teaching not only modern Israeli usage but also giving some historical perspective of how the language is evolving. I am still at a basic level, but enjoy listening to and learning from Guy.

This podcast is helpful for learners at all levels. It’s short enough and covers bite-sized material so it’s not overwhelming for a newbie like me but it also gives you real-world vocab with context. The topics are up to date and teach you about Tel Aviv and Israeli culture as well as the language. Guy and the entire TLV1 team do an excellent job.
