Arctic fox 118Love the show! But also I have a question.Hey brother, I love the show I listen to it when I go to sleep I have a a question if harry were to see Crookshanks kill worm-tail in rat form would he be able to see thestrals or would he have to know that Wormtail is actually a wizard for it to have counted. Love the show keep making great content!

CortoniusAwesome showLove this podcast i binge it all the time! But I always wondered what if the dementors sucked out Harry’s soul but left the piece of Voldemort’s?

Hufflepoof-FloofExpelliamosHey brother! I have really loved listening to your theories and your new podcast Through the Griffin Door, and I have a quick question. This has always bothered me about the Harry Potter series, how does Expelliarmus lead to ownership of the wand? wouldn’t the whole DA then be each other’s wand masters? So if Neville used Expelliarmus on Harry, does that make him the master of his Phoenix wand? I never liked this explanation of how Harry became master of the elder wand. I know you guys had had other theories on it but to this day, the theory that Draco using Expelliarmus or Harry stealing a completely different wand by force, made Harry the master of the elder wand. let me know what you think.

leviosa123Love the Cedric death laughs!Hey Brother! I’ve been listening to your podcast from the moment that you started uploading. I also love especially in Goblet of Fire when you read parts of the story and then somehow relate that to Cedric dying. It’s so funny in fact that I started to do it myself. One point of possible constructive criticism I have for you guys is that you should start uploading the videos of the pod on Spotify. I think that if you have a video version of the pod on more than one platform, you could get a lot more listeners. Thanks for all the hours of laughs and keep doing what you’re doing.

Beans the HufflepuffEnough with the "Cedric dying too soon" jokes!Heyyy Brotherrrr! I LOVE this podcast! It fills me with joy to listen to J and Ben break down each chapter of the book. I look forward to listening to this every Sunday when I get up. The jokes, sidebars, rabbit holes, and all the rest make it a truly delicious podcast. 10/10, would recommend! My question: in book seven, Harry decides to talk to Griphook about getting into Greengotts before he talks to Olivander about the elder wand. What do you think would have happened if he chose to talk to Olivander first? Would they have raced Voldemort to the elder wave? Or would it all play out the same? Can't wait to hear what you think!

AlexisJo73Best podcast!!!!!Absolutely love listening to the show. It even helps mitigate some of the Sunday Scaries! Helps to pass the time doing chores and also love enjoying this while on a trail. (I probably look slightly bizarre laughing to myself at all of the jokes while out and about) lol. I have a double whammy question! Why didn’t the sacrifice work for the woman and two children that lived in Gregorovitch's home when Voldemort pursued them? What would happen if Voldemort created another Harry situation with those two children in Deathly Hallows? Thanks!

ebnightExcellent podcast! (Imperious course question)Hey brother! Love the podcast and have really enjoyed binging every episode over the last 6 months. My question is how do you think the imperious curse actually works? It seems to have a wide use case ranging from “jump on the desk” to “run the ministry of magic in a way that aligns with Voldemort”. Do you think all of these things happen from single commands? Or is the spell caster nudging them in a certain direction?

MrMoore92Secret keeper answerHey brothers! Love the podcast and the YouTube channel. So the reason they choose to have worm tail as secret keeper. We have to star with the 5th book where moody gives Harry the note to see number 12 grimwald place. So we do know that the secret keeper can look like someone else. So Sirius hands ppl a note and tells them that he is secret keeper. Now we look at the 7th book when Hermione tells harry ‘since Dumbledor past we became secret keeper’. So look at an options moldy could have used, if Sirius was secret keeper but moldy could get Ms. Bagshot. To tell him he just needed to get rid of Sirius then she could tell him. But if everyone knows it’s Sirius then that is a distraction. Why else do you think everyone knows that he was secret keeper. Think about it if Lupin was the secret keeper, it would become book 1 Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.

xRUCKUSxBIG BIG FANS PLEASE READ ITS IMPORTANTHave to say love the podcast I follow along with the books and I listen to the books on audible all the time huge fan of the channel huge fan of the podcast. Keep up the amazing work thank you for the wonderful deep dive into the Harry Potter universe, I was just recently listening to the first book And when Harry goes to Diagnalley with Hagrid, Harry mentioned to Hagrid you mean to tell me Voldemort went to Hogwarts and Hagrid says says yes a long long time ago. What if Hagrid just told him yet it was about 50 years ago and then in chamber of secrets Harry remembers that it says to Hermione Hagrid told me that Voldemort was at Hogwarts about 50 years ago. Do you think Hermione would’ve put together that Voldemort must be the one to open the chamber of secrets and put two or two together and put tom riddle together with Voldemort as the same person.

MattG1026Hey SCBHey Scb! As a huge harry potter fan I love the podcast! I was listening to your episode on chapter 8 of GoF (the quidditch world cup) and when you compared the effects of Veela to the Imperious curse, i had an idea. Do you think it’s possible Barty Crouch Jr actually cast the Imperious Curse on harry at the exact moment the Veela came out? We know he stole his wand some time during the match.. Just a thought I had - keep up the great work!
-
RickyjhHey BrothersHey Brother Love the podcast!! Always excited for Sunday. My question for you two is what do you think Hermione’s 7th year at hogwarts was like? We know after the war Ron and harry became auror and hermione went back to hogwarts. Thanks for everything you two do.

IWantToBeANerdLove you guys!A couple years ago, I found your YouTube channel when I was about ten or eleven. I was (and still am) obsessed with everything that had to do with Harry Potter. Now, I’m 13, and rediscovered your channel. Found out about Through The Griffin Door and I was immediately hooked. I tried to read the books in fourth grade but stopped after Goblet of Fire. Thanks to you guys, I picked up the books again and now I’m halfway through Deathly Hallows! Anyways, I’m currently on Episode 10 of the podcast, and I just want to say what a wonderful job you two do. With love from Nebraska -IWantToBeANerd

Roanoke Game Master LazadarusA fun journey through the Harry Potter seriesGreetings and Salutations from a Roanoke VA resident, a long time listener for Super Carlin Brothers and now Through the Griffon Door. It’s always a pleasure to listen and theorize. Two things first, What if James Potter stayed as a Ghost? Reason why is he knows his best friend, one he loves as a brother, would be blamed. He sacrifices his afterlife for his friend and son. And would a ghost past on if they go through the Veil? I’m thinking Barty Crouch Jr. using the eye is seeing something that escapes the cloaks. If the eye does infrared even Harry’s breath or body heat will be visible. So the eye sees the heat of breath and he puts it together. It not that he sees through it, but sees what escapes it.
-
HogwartsIsADragonAmazing!Hey brother, absolutely love the pod! I just rewatched your ‘What if crookshanks killed Peter’ video and I had a quick question, obviously yall talk about how it would have just been Barty crouch jr if that were to happen but what if Barty Crouch Sr had decided to come clean to Dumbledore/the ministry before he had the chance to escape? Do you think Lucius would’ve stepped up?

Ken_Ann8910/10 would recommend, whether you’re reading the series for the first time or the hundredth time!Love the chapter-by-chapter read through! I grew up with the series and re-read the series each time a new book came out and it’s always my go-to in between new series. Not so much a question or theory, but I learned something super interesting today I’d love to get your special SCB-flavored take on: I always wondered where JKR got the name “Squibb” for a non-magical person born to magical parents. I learned today that in the motion picture industry, a Squibb is fake blood (I.e.: you put a Squibb/fake blood packet on someone who will get shot or stabbed). I thought this was a fun connection since many wizards seem to be so concerned with blood status… Pure blood, half blood, M*dblood, and now “fake blood”. Doesn’t apply to Filch though, since of course he’s obviously a poltergeist (IYKYK). On that note, “filch” means to pilfer or steal… do you think that could be a hint that he’s stealing the guise of a real person/wizard? Since Filch is the first Squibb we encounter in the series, do you think this was JKR’s not-to-subtle hint that he’s a fake wizard with a stolen identity? Your theory seems more like cannon the more you pull at this thread. Just sayin…

RedPandaPatronusIs the Hokie Bird a Phoenix?Heeeeeeeeeeeyyyy brother! It has been great to revisit the Wizarding World with this podcast. I really appreciate the friendly, light-hearted discussion and the silliness and fan theories, especially in recent episodes covering The Goblet of Fire. (Spoilers below!) Here’s a question for you: What if Karkaroff was responsible for putting Harry’s name in the Goblet of Fire instead of Barty Crouch Jr.? Would the tournament play out differently? Would Voldemort be willing to forgive Karkaroff? Would Harry get coached by the real Mad-Eye Moody (if Barty simply never leaves Azkaban)? Would love to hear your take on this what-if. Thanks so much!

VorpalOneHey Brother!!Love this podcast and the nostalgia trip that I get with every episode! Been a long time viewer of the Super Carlin Brothers and am proud to say that I once came in second in one of your trivia streams. I have a question for you two that has been bugging me for a bit. Could non magic folk (muggles, squibs) potentially brew potions? Assuming that all you need are the correct ingredients and the know how. Either which way, keep up the good work you guys and keep bringing light into this oft time darkened world!
-
fjfj6*fHeyHey brother Love the show but what if Voldemort had a time terner and moved backwards in time every time he got close to losing.

#1GriffinDoorkAmazing PodcastHeeeeey Brother, this podcast has officially become my favorite listen and I am currently a little behind on the podcast, on prisoner of Azkaban and I had a question. If you get your soul sucked by the dementors, can you go on, and if you can do you go on after your body dies, or does it happen immediately after you get your soul sucked? Also can you become a ghost if your soul is sucked.? Thanks, keep up the great work.

BellaHufflepuffEverything I wanted and more! And what if…Hey brother!!! This is my favorite podcast. I read Harry Potter as a kid and have had the audiobooks on a regular cycle ever since, so the deep dives Ben and J provide are excellent and to the level of detail I need after spending over a decade absorbing this wonderful story. I have a question! What if Cedric disarmed Harry in the maze? Would he have been protected by the twin core in the graveyard? I guess I’m mainly asking whether the twin core is exclusive to Harry and Voldemort with their horcrux connection or if the protection of a twin core is transferable. Thank you for all you do!
-
cookieblkQuestionHey brothers! Love the podcast and look forward to listening every week. But one thing has always bothered me. Why doesn’t Harry have a single thing that his parents owned? I understand them potentially being buried with their wands, but they still had a whole house of items and clothes. It seems strange he wouldn’t get a single item they might’ve had. Let me know your thoughts and again, love your show :)!
-
Blooper735Hey BrotherI’ve watched J vs Ben for years now and love the content. Recently I’ve been bingeing this series for a couple days now and had an idea. We know that a soul that does not belong to someone’s body can reside in a different persons body, and we know that after a dementor preforms a kiss that body is a “husk”. Do you think if a horcrux was made out of a “husk” it would act as a second version of that person?
-
audra 14Biggest HP fanLooove this show. The best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Thank you so much.I have questions. wouldn’t Harry be able to see thestrals from book 2, because he saw his mom die.
-
Best show in the worldHey brotherLove the work I just finished the fourth book and starting the fifth and my question is why in the third task not ask wormtail to not do it because he can use that against him and the dark lord wouldn’t even be here because he is not human and Sirius, lupen, Fred, and sadly belatricks just to name a couple people who die and please update more frequently.
-
Swiftie KatieDRACO MALFOY IN GRIFFINDOOR!!!!Heyyyyyy Brother, I love love love your podcast. I listen every week to all of your podcasts but this one is my favourite. Now I know you have probably thought about this question, but the problem is how this would come about. Here’s what I think: Draco’s parents are either killed during the first wizarding war or they are thrown in Azkaban. He can then get adopted by either a random wizarding family (or the Weasley’s even). In this way he would be sort of a different character, but I believe in you, you can figure it out. Now I know how you probably feel about this and if you want to disregard this this idea that fine, buuuuuut you could totally have a Draco and Herminone romance. Love you guys so much and pleeeeeease answer my question. Tysm ✨

BibleLover📜❤️Hey Brother!Hey Brother! Love the podcast! Question: is it possible that Wormtail was actually the first person to go to the Potter’s house? In Goblet Voldemort asks for robes and his wand, which Pettigrew gives him. And there’s NO WAY Sirius, Dumbledore, Hagrid, or even Snape was like, “Hey, Voldemort’s wand! Let’s just leave this very important thing here for…reasons. Pretty sure the Ministry won’t be needing this!”

🐟🐠🍤Good work!Hi! Love the pod, I just had a quick thought. I was thinking that the reason the age line was implemented was to try and specifically keep Harry out of the Triwizard tournament. I think it’s likely that Dumbledore thought Harry might enter and had a real chance of being chosen, which obviously Dumbledore would want to avoid (given that he is trying to keep him safe). Anyways, I think Dumbledore pushed for this rule, even if he didn’t give the ministry his reasons. Obviously it didn’t matter in the end, as Harry is forced to compete, but I think it explains why the age line was there in the first place. What do you think? Keep up the great work!

MAGICAL MEganBeautifully WholesomeHeyyy Brother!!! I’m a big fan of Super Carlin Brothers. I love how detailed and knowledgeable all their content is. This podcast showcases how much Harry Potter knowledge J and Ben have as well as their beautiful relationship as brothers and friends. I love how kind and wholesome you two are ❤️. My question is: what happened to James’s parents? I can’t for the life of me remember why they’re not in the Harry Potter books. What if Harry got to live with the Potters instead of the Dursleys?
-
Gryffindork17Hey brother! Great podcast!Love reading each chapter before listening every Sunday! The discussion last week of the different methods of travel (flushing the ship down the lake) was hilarious. My question is if the Tri Wizard Tournament had been held one of the other schools, how would the Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students have travelled to and arrived at the other schools?
-
Oliver T HullI love this!I have started listening and I can’t stop! I take 2 mile walks everyday just to have an excuse to listen! Thank you so much Super Carlin Brothers! I have this idea that Snape can change his age and travel through time. During the chapter in Deathly Hallows when Harry is going through Snape’s memories, Snape and Lily are great friends at Hogwarts. When Snape stays outside the Gryffindor tower, Lily goes out and talks to him. She asks him why he wants to join Voldemort after Hogwarts implying that Voldemort was already at large in the wizarding world. But in The Half-Blood prince when Harry and Dumbledore go into Slughorn’s memories, Snape and Voldemort are at Hogwarts together. I just wanted to ask how? Thank you for the awesome podcast, and if you are reading my theory, Thank you!!!!!!

Happy HippogriffVeela Magic?Heyyy brother! I love this podcast, I’ve been watching SuperCarlinBrothers for years and in the past few months I’ve started listening here as I reread the books! Your most recent theory about Harry’s resistance to the Imperius curse got me thinking about Veela and now I’m curious: do you think Veela magic is gender specific (only affects men) or specific to those attracted to women? Like strength of character aside, would Dumbledore be affected? I don’t think it really matters in the long run but asking around I’ve gotten lots of different thoughts!
-
RavenClaw88Could Harry have killed Sirius?Hey Brother! Love the show. I’ve been a fan for several years after initially discovering your Disney and Pixar content but absolutely love the Harry Potter stuff as well. I have been listening every week since the beginning and love reading the chapter each week in prep for Sunday. My question to you is could Harry have killed Sirius? In Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry has a thought to kill Sirius Black after learning that he supposedly betrayed his parents. And in the shrieking shack he is contemplating killing him with his wand pointed at him for a while. However, Harry doesn’t learn the killing curse until Goblet of Fire, and when they learn it Moody says that it takes a good amount of strength to do and that the students wouldn’t be able to cause more than a nose bleed even if they tried. So, could Harry have killed Sirius if he didn’t know how, and if he wasn’t strong enough?

{nicknametitlepending}Pls fixThe podcast cuts off a couple of minutes before the end

BuzzyBBelieverSnape the savior?Heyyy brother been listening to SCB since 2017 and I was wondering what if Snape cast sacrificicial love over lily and Harry how would the story play out…
-
That gentle hufflepuffLove Remus!Hey brother! New fan of you guys. Do you think lupin wasn’t in the slug club because slug horn knew he was a werewolf, since the teachers would have known his situation.
-
Minetime15Hey Brother!Love the pod so far, and I have a what if scenario that I’d like your opinion on. In the prophecy, the “either must die at the hands of the other” line basically confirms that Harry and Voldy will always be enemies. However, what the prophecy does not say is that it will be a fight of good vs evil. So is it possible in some way for Harry and Voldy to end up both being extremely dark wizards, but just have them both wanting to singularly rule the world? I know it would be really out of character for Harry, but maybe Malfoy gets to him first and they end up being friends. You mentioned this in What if Harry was in Slytherin, but it doesn’t seem entirely true that Harry must be a good guy. If it does end up being true, I could see this being a really fun what if series!
-
SassCass21Is Snape being nasty part of Dumbledore’s big plan?Hey brother! I absolutely love the podcast and SCB channel, definitely two of my favorite things to watch or listen to at work. I love the deep dives into the little details of the story, I feel like it brings so much life to it. I had a thought while listening, what if Snape is so mean because Voldemort needs to believe he never switched sides even after he fell. Dumbledore knew Voldemort would return so is it possible he asked Snape to act like a death eater would still, though probably didn’t realize how far he would take it? I just think that Snape cares about the students much more than he lets on and after being bullied for his high school career, would he really subject 75% of the students to the same? Might just be me being hopeful but I kinda like it.
-
P!ckle!Avada Kedavra= Evil Patronus?Heeyy, brother! This is my favorite podcast ever! I’ve been listening for a while now,and I’m also a fan of the pop and scab. Theory: while you were reading ch. 14, I was wondering something. Could avada kedavra be like an evil patronus? It says “something” goes toward the spider. I wonder if this means that this is like a non corporeal (or even corporeal) patronus. You do have to mean it to use the curse, just like you have to think of happy memories for a patronus. Just wondering your thoughts! Thanks, love the show!

BiggestHarry Potter nerd everBest podcast ever!!!!Hey brother! This is one of my favorite podcasts ever!! I have 2 questions. First question could a true student from any house if he or she go a hold of the hat pull out their house’s relic? This has been a longstanding theory I’ve had and wanted to hear your take on it.2nd question what in the world does dumbledore mean in kings cross station “of course it’s all in your head Harry but that doesn’t mean it’s real this quote has confused me since I first read the story(and I’ve read the story 6 times). Keep up the good work can’t wait to see what comes next

RunningOffAndOnHP and family feelsThanks for being a bright spot in the world, these past months especially. Me and my two younger brothers grew up with the Harry Potter stories, and we had a lottery for the read order as each new book came out (nagging the person in front of us in the reading order to read faster). Now my mom and I listen to and discuss your podcast together 20 years later. While we don’t always agree with your takes, we love how thoughtful, funny, and light hearted you are. The nostalgia, for both these stories as well as sibling friendship, is strong here.

bmHatesAcornsMoody’s Eye DebacleHey brother! This podcast is perfect for huge Harry Potter fans like myself, and has become my favorite part of Sundays! I’ve been watching y’all since I was in middle school, and now I’m about to graduate from college, thanks for doing what y’all do! Theory: The whole “Moody being able to see under the cloak” problem has bothered me for years, but I think I might have a solution. What if a wizards magic had a property that was linked to the person and their location, and some wizards are talented enough to feel/see this magic? I would akin it to a 6th sense of sorts, like an inherent feeling of knowing the magic is there and the person the magic is connected to. This could explain a few things. 1. The specifics of Harry’s address on the letters in book 1. It’s weird that every letter has hyper specific addresses like: “the cupboard under the stairs” or “the floor, hut on the rock, the sea”. Unless Dumbledore was stalking Harry, these would be no way for them to know exactly where he is. But if his magic was inherently tied to him and his location, McGonagall could just know exactly where he was when addressing the letter by using this sense. 2. The Marauders map. This could explain how the Marauders map was made, the Marauders were able to track each persons magic onto the map to display where they are. (Although this would be assuming that Filch is a poltergeist and therefore has magic to be shown on the map). This is also why a person can be seen under the cloak on the map, because their magic is still there even if they are invisible. 3. Owls knowing where to go. We know owls are able to track people without an address, and this could be how, they can sense the persons magic. 4. Dumbledore seeing under the cloak. Dumbledore has been able to see under the cloak, and it could be because he has this special ability. 5. And finally, Moody/BCJ seeing under the cloak. They could be talented enough to have the sense, or the eye has the ability to see/feel the magic on its own. Let me know what y’all think! See you in another life brother!

DywynDid Barry Crouch Jr. work as an auror with Moody?Have been listening since the beginning; your theories make the world so much more rich! My question: is it possible that Barty Crouch Jr worked with Moody as an auror? He is able to effectively impersonate Moody which means they must have known each other from before. Maybe that’s they he feels like he was betrayed when Moody came to arrest him causing him to put his eye out. I’d love to hear what you think!
-
Anna CravenThe Riddles InsideHey guys, great show! It just occurred to me, sorry if you said it already and I missed it, is it “the riddles inside” for this book because of Tom Riddle and his father’s grave? Also, how about “the truths and lies inside” for OotP (“I must not tell lies”). My question is about the Hogwarts Express episode. The question for that episode was, “What if Snape were always on Dumbledore’s side?”. I would love to hear y’all discuss, if only Dumbledore heard the prophecy, would he maybe leak the prophecy to Voldemort on purpose, to set up his downfall?
-
baileyjohnson127Harry Potter 4 lifeI LOVE this podcast! This is my favorite podcast and I just binged all the episodes in the last month in half because I am so obsessed! Anyways here’s my question! If Harry being Lilys child would not have been part of the prophecy where do you think Snape would be now? Would he have turned to the good side? Would he continue to terrorize people and do Voldemort’s work? I always wonder because he loved Lily and wanted to save her but he never really said he was against Voldemorts agenda.
-
JDB8282Beat Show EVER!!!!Hey brother! Love the show I listen to it at all times of the day no matter where I am! My question is, What if Ron didn’t sit with harry, would Harry have sat with someone else? If so who and how would it affect his sorting and friendships at school?
-
Jetticus1Would be a great review right before or after “Padfood Returns!”Dear Mr J and Ben! I absolutely love the podcast! I’m currently a few chapters ahead of you reading the illustrated version out loud to my wife. Reading them out loud is a completely different experience, similar to how you guys are experiencing it chapter by chapter! One of my favorite things you do is analyzing the books as if it was a week by week episode from HBO, exploring what theory’s would we have at a particular point in the book. My question is, after all that was relieved in the chapter “Padfoot Returns” could we solve for the mystery reveal at the end of the book?? With things like we hear from Snape that Boomslang Skin has been stolen, polyjuice potion could be in play, and Moody showing up near the stairs where Harry was almost caught by Snape and Flitch, Bertha actually having an amazing memory as a teenager, Mr. Couch visiting Azkaban to see his son before he “died.” What do you think?
-
BlackholeincineratorReview QuestionHey Brother! Finally caught up! Binged as fast as I could and so worth it! My question for you guys is What if Voldemort had gotten the philosopher’s stone? I always assumed that it would make him a new body but the more I think about it, the more I feel like it is just to keep Quirrel alive long enough to get a new body. Would that also make Quirrel Voldemort’s right hand man? Just some thoughts.
-
mom1234512345Why Dumbledore put an age limitHey Brother! Love the show, my favorite to listen to on long runs! On the last podcast you guys talked about how it was kind of pointless for Dumbledore to put the age line around the goblet when the goblet itself will always pick the most prepared student anyway. I think this seemingly dumb decision ties in to Dumbledore’s Big Plan: Dumbledore puts the age line in place specifically to keep Harry out of the tournament. Dumbledore is worried that Harry will enter the tournament and become Hogwarts champion. I think that even though Harry is less experienced, he has a certain intangible quality to him that would beat out Cedric (evidenced by mirror of erised, golden polyjuice, early success w/ patronus/ DaDa, etc.). Harry is just the chosen one. However, that doesn’t mean Harry would survive the tournament. The prophecy doesn’t rule out Harry dying by means other than Voldemort, as you guys have covered before. I don’t think Dumbledore would take that risk, hence the age line. Let me know what you think!

SaospThe Creevy brothersHey brother, love the podcast i was actually listening to the audiobook book of the deathly hollows and i just got confused on how the Creevy brothers got into hogwarts because according to Neville hogwarts is only for pure bloods and they are muggle born and they are to young to apparate and how were they able to survive for so long if they are both under age and they still have the trace?
