Tech News #60

Weekly roundup of everything new in the Linux and Open Source world! May contain gaming and privacy related topics.

This is a longer counterpart to the Linux and Open Source news videos available on The Linux Experiment Youtube Channel.

I’m Nick, I’ve been making Linux and Open Source related videos on YouTube since 2018, with a sizeable following of more than 300 000 subscribers. I’ve been using Linux since 2006, starting with Ubuntu (like most people), and I have 12 years of experience in project management and UX, and that’s the lens I use to view the progress of our Linux desktops and open source applications!

Injects his (far left) political opinions too
On the March 29th/30th 2025 episode he injected his far left politics when discussing Brave because the CEO donated to something the host dislikes (but Obama supported at the time too). Get them for the technical issues, not your personal political views.

The Linux Master has Hit Podcasts
I’m not a huge Linux user myself. I’ve dabbled in it for fun, but couldn’t get into it. Still a fun experience though. This creator (Nick) provides content in a way that’s refreshing without being overly opinionated or off the cuff rantings I’ve had with most tech news podcasts/creators. Most people (apparently not a lot of us according to the latest episode) that are coming here probably are coming from the YouTube Channel. Obviously, you won’t get the fun easter eggs he puts in the videos (You still haven’t taken over the world yet. It’s been on your calendar forever) While this podcast is an expanded version of said YouTube channel, it still feels like it’s a compressed version of the important Linux and overall tech news (which is a GOOD thing). My name is also Nick, so from one Nick to another, keep on keeping on.
