🤦🏻‍♀️📚📖BookAddictedGalGood, so farI did just start listening, but it’s good so far. It does sound like an audio book depending on who is speaking, which I like. Update: just finished 0.5, and have to say, it’s AWSOME!! Amazing podcast, fun characters I guess you could say. Anyhow, definitely recommend.

Graeme.darknessStarting off slow and rockyI’m seven episodes in and I’m really struggling to continue. It has promise and I like the premise, but it’s just a slog to get through. There’s just too much recapping previous events and going over the same thing again and again. By episode three we’d heard each characters backstory multiple times already and then a brand new character comes in that has to hear about every character’s backstory all over again! The players seem to want to right every wrong they come across, and that’s just not going to happen in Ravenloft. It’s a place of uncomfortable alliances, and the players don’t seem to get that they’re going to have to work with people whose methods they don’t agree with. Like, how many different NPCs had to tell the party multiple times each that the lycanthrope soldiers volunteered to become lycanthropes before the party understands that? Even after insight checks showed the first person to tell them that was telling the truth they kept going on and on about it and it’s keeping the party from progressing.

phroggonalogMixed feelings3/5 stars I’m ~10 episodes in and I have mixed feelings -really wish it wasn’t hyped as being “so scary,” it’s not Stephen King or anything -disclaimer, these folks are infinitely more talented than I am, in no way do I claim that I would do better…but it is kind of frustrating to hear DM Walters lay out this great setting and hear the players promptly forget what is happening, i.e. Walters clearly describing the heights and distances of walls multiple times (very high and very far apart) and the players acting like they are right next to each other -there are moments of great chemistry, but as much or more facepalm moments The bottom line is, 10 episodes in, it feels like there is potential that is not being realized…either the players are not fully “in” (which is understandable I mean this is a game after all and everyone is busy), or they do not have great chemistry, or they seem to just not be able to read the room

GytmeeThis will pull you in!If you crave a real D&D experience, when you cannot play it yourself for whatever reason, this is an amazingly entertaining podcast. The DM is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. The players stick to their characters very well, and the character acting overall is spot-on. They really bring the world and the tale to life in your mind. It’s just a truly enjoyable fantasy storytelling experience, encased within the structure of the D&D world.
