I’ve been listening to Perfume Room for over 2 years and it is one of the podcasts from which I look forward to updates the most. Get ready to embark on an olfactive journey and learn about the stories, inspirations, and artistic visions behind the world of fragrance. Emma is an excellent host and attentive interviewer who knows how to ask the right questions and keep the conversation both technically interesting and broadly relatable. Plus, Emma runs an incredible Smell Club (it’s like book club but for fragrance!) which has expanded my palette and appreciation of several notes in perfumery in addition to being an all around fun time - highly recommend it!

Emma is fun, funny and intelligent and the interviews are an interesting exploration of a creative world that we don’t have nearly as much language for as we do for the other arts - which makes the show feel fresh, because as much as we’ve heard from visual and musical artists about their stories and process, most of us know almost nothing about the scent artists!

This podcast literally saved me from sinking into a deep dark depression. As soon as I hear the “Seinfeld on Ecstasy” music intro I almost giggle with anticipation to “sniff” up the latest perfume game Emma & her guest is about to drop. I have loved rediscovering fragrance so much through Emma’s perspective. Her pods go deep & personal but are hilarious & informative. I would drink her voice if it came in a bottle! She is sweet, genuine, edgy, bubbly, sweet & uplifting, I never get tired of listening to her. My commutes have become magical & transformative rather than repetitive, mindless & dull. It is by far my favorite podcast.

Thank you, Emma, for the incredible interviews with perfumers and historians and scientists and all the other fascinating people involved in the world of scent. A world that attracts the greatest cross-section of humans I have ever encountered in my life. I just finished listening to the interview you had with Hilde Soliani. I am obsessed with her work but am a little angry with her because I can’t get Bambolina anymore. OK, I’m not really angry with her. She is the queen. Glad I got that off my mind. This is a great podcast for fragrance lovers! Regardless of whether you’ve been into fragrance for a while or just dipping your toes in, Emma has great episodes and features really interesting guests. The conversations are so insightful, informative, and entertaining.

I love everything about this podcast…it is funny, silly, informative. Whether or not you are well versed on perfumery, it does not matter - Emma presents really interesting people, topics and insights to the world of scent. Perfect—no notes. This podcast is everything a perfume freak could ask for—amazing guests, deep dives, laughs. Along with being fun and playful, it’s also focused. Episodes don’t meander like a few other perfume pods I follow. (No shade, Just a different style!) This is such a wonderful podcast for anyone who is interested in or passionate about the world of fragrance and perfumes. Emma brings an obvious passion and expansive knowledge to her interviews with perfume artists, and her questions always lead to engaging, enveloping storytelling from her guests. Really can’t recommend this podcast more enthusiastically to anyone who is even remotely passionate about fragrance and the world of perfume artistry.

I LOVE this podcast. I listen to it while I work to get through the day without becoming too distracted (although I do sometimes have to write down a perfume to try!). She gives great interviews with so many genuinely interesting individuals, and I love her solo episodes too because she is both funny and really informational! I am a newbie in the fragrance community and learning so much from this podcast and other online content. I have tried listening to other perfume podcasts and they aren’t the same, this is my favorite! I hope to buy one of her fragrance consults someday when I have a need for a special perfume!

I’ve always loved perfume but recently wanted to learn more about creators and the industry. Emma’s interviews strike the perfect balance for the casual perfume lover and for the fragheads with humor, insight and fun anecdotes!

I have been an avid lover of all things scented for my entire life. I have been perfume collecting for 20+ years and I absolutely love this podcast. An amazing conversational tone makes it fun to listen to as well as being very informative. I also appreciate the lack of “snobbery” on the part of the host , who gives her opinions but not judgement. As a perfume nerd (I refuse to use the term f-head) I am always impressed with the caliber of guests. Please bring on my perfumer crush Jerome Epinette who has crafted so many of my beloved and favorite fragrances. As a fellow lover of Atelier Cologne I appreciate the update you provided on their current status. Thank you Emma…you truly are a pleasure to listen to. I am binging all your old shows, as I only discovered this pod fairly recently.

I don’t know why but this podcast makes me feel so pretty. Like I’m the best smelling gal in the room. I love listening to Emma’s descriptions of fragrances. If she taught a college course I’d maybe finally go to college.

This used to be a 5-star podcast, but not it is mostly brand founder schilling their scents, highly repetitive. It still has it moments when Emma features regular perfume lovers for conversions. The Margaret Cho episode is the absolute best.

I’ve learned so much about perfume listening to Perfume Room. Emma has impeccable taste in fragrance and every episode leaves me inspired to sniff!

I love this podcast. Emma is engaging and knowledgeable and pulls you into a fascinating discussion about fragrance. I enjoy thé interviews but I think I like the solo episodes more - Emma clearly has both a creative and intellectual angle on the world of scent. So glad I found this gem!

Emma hosts such a fun, easygoing podcast with amazing guests from all over the fragrance spectrum- classically-trained perfumers with dozens of classics to their names, independent & iconoclastic perfumers, beauty bloggers/fragrance influencers, you name it. I love that the show notes include every fragrance mentioned, so I can prowl online and learn more after I listen! Emma has introduced me to so many scents that have become favorites. I suspect that, like me, many fragrance-obsessed folks don’t have a large number of people in their lives that share the same degree of interest in the topic, which makes Emma’s podcasts that much better. She gets it, and is excited to share her love of the scented realm!

This is the absolute best podcast around perfume and fragrance. We are lucky to have Emma bring together these guests and topics.

I LOVE Perfume Room. I wish this had existed when I was first exploring perfume. Emma Vernon approaches the subject in such an easygoing, yet expansive way. She gets into details which grab the attention of both deep fragheads and newbies, and manages to create this atmosphere that is compelling and never condescending. Her guests are top tier. There’s always info about newer scents on the market and older favorites, and products run the gamut from drugstore to niche. It’s quickly become one of my favorite podcasts.

I’m so happy that I found this podcast after there were already 80 episodes so that I can binge it to my heart’s content. Emma is hilarious and insightful. Cannot stop listening. I have learned so much already. she’s in the tub with me. She goes on walks with me. She does dishes with me. It’s the best.

I’m new to fragrances, so I’ve been listening to a lot of different people on YouTube. Emma’s show is the most interesting and informative.

Let me start off by saying that I just recently really got into fragrances…and what a treat it was to find Perfume Room. Emma is full of knowledge regarding fragrances (and a ton of other things). She makes her podcast easy to understand, and teaches me new things every time I listen! Not having many friends, it’s nice to hear someone discuss the fragrances I’m interested in (with the coolest guests), in such a conversational manner. She gives us VIP access without the hassle of having to bribe the doorman. You feel like you’re part of the conversation because she manages to ask all the questions in your own mind. She’s knowledgeable about fragrance and pop-culture without being pretentious and lighthearted while asking intimate questions. She is an amazing talk show host!

This podcast is great if you’re nosey like me and want to know what perfume people wear. Emma is so knowledgeable and an awesome host. I really enjoy learning about the perfume industry, it’s so much more intricate (yet small?) than I imagined.

A friend suggested this podcast and I got obsessed right off the bat!! I’ve always loved fragrance but never been super knowledge. I have learned so much from Emma and her guests. And I’ve bought so many yummy samples that I share with friends from Emma’s suggested sites. 10 out of 10!!!

Emma feels like that kind friend who wants to share her knowledge of scent and fragrance in a way that is warm and curious, the opposite of condescending.
