    Genuine treat
It’s one of my new favorite listens. It was unexpected but delightful to find some queer voices talking about disturbing films. Love this podcast.

    Great Listen
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this podcast. I love disturbing films but it’s always a bit of a toss up trying discuss them with others, especially when half the people I know don’t know/haven’t seen the majority of these movies. Dax and Mary Beth deliver equal parts silly banter and in depth analysis of the themes and symbolism of these movies, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a film podcast.

    Yay!
I’ve seen most of these movies and I also have no one to talk about them with. I have a weird thing with seeking out disturbing movies as well, so I’m happy to have found this podcast. There are a few of these I haven't seen so I’m going to add them to my list. Yay!

Do yourself a favour and skip this podcast
An hour of mindless, incoherent blabber about anything but the advertised movie. Imagine the very worst of daytime reality TV and then remove any logic, plot or structure and what you’re left with is this podcast. Ain’t nobody got time for this.

    I feel seen
I love this podcast and am quickly burning through the back catalogue! I’ve always been drawn to disturbing films in order to process trauma and I love how the hosts acknowledge that need for many horror fans. Excellent show.

    A valuable service
As a constant fan of the Most Messed Up movies I can get in front of my eyes, it’s good to finally feel seen. The banter is bright, the hosts are brighter, and, with the switch to weekly from bi weekly, there’s so much content I don’t have to keep listening to the Funny Games ep over and over. A must listen.

    EXCELLENT
Bold and fun concept, highly entertaining hosts and a great podcast. I love disturbing movies, but you don’t have to in order to love this podcast. Great selection of movies as well.

This is what I look forward to on Thursdays
This podcast is such a JOY to listen to (as much as discussing disturbing film can be joyful, of course.) Others have said it, but I’ll reiterate- this podcast is great if you like disturbing films but can’t always stomach them. Their in-depth analysis makes me feel like I’ve gotten the essence of the film without having to view it. This pod is one I look forward to when I start my Thursdays!

    Best. Idea. EVER.
I’m attracted to disturbing films, so hearing the breakdown of what exactly makes them unnerving is fascinating to me. I was able to pick out several celluloid “gems” in the podcast illustration, and I’m really looking forward to hearing MB and Dax’s thoughts on them.

Thank You Dax and Mary Beth!
    1) y’all are hilarious. 2) with the last year and a half, I’ve been more and more precious about what movies I devote my time and cognitive attention to. None of these movies that y’all talk about will ever be at the top of my list, but I do enjoy having an opportunity to learn more about them anyway! My curiosity extends to wanting to hear about some of these movies in this very vicarious way, and I’m grateful that it’s done through two hosts that can include humor with these topics (don’t we need it) and that I can hear about it while doing... literally anything else. I look forward to hearing about all of the seedy corners of horror that you trudge through in the future!

Thank you Dax & Mary Beth
I love Dax & Mary Beth for watching disturbing movies so I don’t have to. I love their discussion and analysis and I cannot wait to hear more.

    Disturbingly Addictive
WONA is a podcast that peers into the darkness, not to be gruesome or morbid, but to understand the impact and appeal of movies frequently considered “too much.” It takes the subject matter seriously, but still has entertainment value and levity. If like me, you’re interested in the subject matter but can find it overwhelming, this is the right show for you. Great hosts, thoughtful commentary. Great stuff.

    So excited!
I love the concept of this podcast! I’m a pretty timid horror watcher, but I’m fascinated by the extreme films. I can’t wait to hear Dax and Mary Beth break down the movies I’m too scared to watch!

    The Anticipation Is Killing Me
I love Dax. I love Mary Beth. They’re both such smart, fun people and I cannot wait to hear them break down movies together. And the whole WONA concept is genius. I will update my review once I’ve actually listened to some episode but this is going to be pure gold.
