juniperrhodesSo funny, so heartwrenching, so goodIncredible cast, gorgeous original music, and endlessly innnovative storytelling and gameplay, particularly as the 2E system and Worst Self playbooks develop. Listening to a new Eidolon episode is the best part of every Monday morning.

CassieKekREALLY GOODIncredibly fun and entertaining, this has been keeping me sane at work for months. The players have really good chemistry and the gm is incredible, and the system itself is really good.

Cinthie🪻Single-handedly fixed my relationship with my parentsTitles not the point of the review but i digress. Possibly the greatest actual play of All Time, some of the most fun characterization in literally any podcast, Luke Varner is an impeccable GM, I could go on.

Ignis-AbleSpider Fact: there’s a lot of good spiders in this showFeel like this is the best example of a actual-play podcast where a lot of the characters have DEEPLY complicated relationships with each other and they actually get to be fleshed out and developed, rather than get crushed into neat friendships or gritting their teeth and working together. The PCs WILL throw the whole narrative into disarray so they can take turns strangling each other, and it’s great. Superb players all around, Quentin Brooks has my soul.

Akash Tandon 167This podcast changed my lifeWhere do I even begin? I've been an avid listener of Audio Entropy for years and started listening to Eidolon as soon as I heard about it. I can't begin to explain how blown away I was. The comedy and the characters and the worldbuilding and the complicated plots and everything is just perfect. I haven't played any of the Persona games and watched like 3 episodes of JJBA once, but I immediately became obsessed with this podcast. I've also spent a lot of time GMing and playing sessions of the RPG with my friends, and its one of the best social experiences I've had. I wasn't that familiar with RPGs before this podcast (and still am not really), all I ever played was some DnD 5e in high school. But Eidolon is something I immediately gravitated to and allowed me to dive in to GMing a weekly campaign that lasted half a year. It's brought me so much closer to my friends and got me interested into RPGs in a way I haven't been before. Thank y'all so much for this.

MayMoonsleyThe Best Actual Play Podcast Of All TimeI made a Patreon to support this show, and it's been well worth it. The soundtrack is amazing, the characters are really good, and it contains some of the galaxy brain-est moments in fiction. Well, well worth the dozens of hours I've spent listening to it.

SpecificTaiguAn absolute delight to listen toI was hesitant to start listening to this because I'm not a big JoJo fan, but I'm so glad I decided to because this podcast is a treat. Everyone involved in putting this actual-play podcast together is giving a lot of love an passion and it shines through in every episode; you can feel how excited everyone is while playing, and I personally love how much fun everyone seems to be having every episode. Luke does a wonderful job as the GM, and I respect a lot of his decision-making and his ability to think on his feet when his players do wild things. The world he's crafted is delightful, and his storytelling ability is top-notch. Every NPC he makes is gold, and the biggest disappointment I have of the podcast is that the players don't love Stapleton as much as I do. The players bounce off one another and Luke extremely well, and they're able to be hilarious while also creating emotional moments with real impact. I've never seen such creative problem-solving in a tabletop before, and I'm always on the edge of my seat to see what any of them is going to do next in any given encounter. I struggle to have favourites because even characters I wasn't very into at the start grow into their own in sneaky ways, and the players are all great at giving one another space to shine. (The Rock crew of season one gets a special shout out for the found family stuff that makes me misty, but The Pop crew has an explosive dynamicism that's magical.) The music is made by one of the players-- Maxie-- and is so good. My partner is a member of their patreon which includes a copy of the soundtrack, and it's worth it for that alone. I love the ambiance and picking out pieces of relevant tunes relating to the characters, and it's just a joy to listen to. Virginia's music "Fracturecandy" is one of my favourites. And as for the system they're playtesting, it's a system that's simplified enough to streamline gameplay and roleplaying which is something I really enjoy. It sounds like a real blast to play, and my partners and I have been creating characters and also a potential campaign to try down the road since we have a copy of the rulebook from the patreon, and I'm pretty excited about it. Luke and Molly should be really proud of the work they put into it. In conclusion, I think this is a wonderful podcast from the top down and would recommend it easily to anyone who enjoys listening to actual-play shows. It's got heart, laughs, and a compelling narrative to share; and my partners and I eagerly listen to each episode as it comes out.

Brian "Brian" BrianExcellent show, even for Non-Jojo/Persona fansI’ve never played a Persona game and have never watched/read any Jojo’s, and was hesitant to start this show because of that (despite being a previous fan of multiple of the hosts from other shows). By the time I’d finished the first episodes of each campaign, I was hooked. This isn’t a “Jojo show” or a “Persona show,” because the rules of EIDOLON (the game) blend the both of them and other cultural influences into creating something that has recognizable references, but a fresh, unique execution compared to them such that EIDOLON (the show) doesn’t alienate listeners unfamiliar with the source material. The rules of both the game and the world of the show are derivative of their inspirations, of course, but spun in a reconfigured in such a way that the final product is it’s own special thing. The show is infectious, goofy, heartwarming, and surprising in all the right way, and may be my new favorite AP show.

JSBaker73The best of both Persona and Jojo’s!The game is great and only gets better over the playtest! The players are a ton of fun and clearly care about each other! And the GM keeps making the best (worst) references to song titles through his characters!

BigGayPossum:3I like it a lot! It creates genuinely complex and interesting scenarios that I love seeing these characters work though. Got recommended ROCK by my girlfriend and it’s become a fast favorite, and I might be a lesbian but I would still give Harvey D Godlove a kiss

ƒpƒIt’s good when he throws the pinball at stuffEidolon—the show and the game—understands and reconstructs the core appeal of fiction like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Persona: That weird rules and ever-growing lore don’t need to weigh a story down, and can in fact be a playground full of challenge and self-expression, built on the logic of myth and tall tales—of outlandish actions revealing truths, universal and personal—and also that everybody can get behind the idea of a woman with a power called “Houses in Motion” that turns people into living condominiums.

GuyvangelistaMust Listen for Jojo/Persona and RPG Fans, Sub to their Patreon for GameBest actual play podcast I’ve listened to in a while. I feel like I can vividly see the characters and the PBtA base is a great system since it doesn’t get too bogged down in rules and gameplay flows smoothly. It’s a must listen to for fans of Jojo/Persona and the fights are absolutely bizarre and fun. A great game and I highly recommend subbing to their Patreon for only $5 a month to get a copy of the tabletop RPG of Eidolon. If they can add a module or outline of their setting to the hilarious alternate universe of USA ruled by President Dracula that would be great.

Ava "Avargrdra" DaltonOne of my favoritesThe Audio Entropy crew have outdone themselves. Honestly one of the best actual plays I’ve heard.

SpriteDetectiveJust Like a Roundtable of BuddiesI go through a good amount of actual play podcasts, and this one is so fun it’s... bizarre. It’s honestly like hanging out with your friends. They’re never afraid to throw in a joke or meme and they keep in line with the tones of the franchises that inspired the Eidolon play style. If you’re a fan of JJBA and Persona, or just of quality storytelling with a lot of laughs, definitely give this one a try.
