First, let me say I don’t review podcasts so for me to take the time to do this really says something. I’ve been following the art world for a while. The first ABMB I attended was in 2007, I believe. In the “Miami Affair Digital Detox” episode at around 40:00 Jerry starts talking about the problems with the current art world and she couldn’t be more right. The point she made and continued thereafter is spot on. She couldn’t be more right. I’m glad someone finally said it. The current art in the art world is stale and many can’t relate to the struggles conveyed in the work. I hope insights like this will be the start of something fresh, new and better. Thank you Jerry

Hilde, I love you. I’ve always thought you were in this for the artists. But lately you’ve made your game all about your ego. When you spin a web of your meandering, snobby snark…you sound like someone Jerry Gogosian would hate. When you take your time with your memes and reports you are brilliant, but off the cuff, you sound narcissistic, tone deaf, cruel, and elitist in the worst ways. This podcast has become almost unbearable. Save Jerry before she becomes an art world Kardashian Karen.

I don’t agree with everything but I love hearing all their ideas and opinions. It’s so fun to listen to and I would recommend for anyone wanting to know more about the art world.

Jerry & Matt are a fantastically intelligent, entertaining and they've got such a fresh, honest and much needed voice in the art world. They interrogate and expose the inside establishment with their knives out but they do it from a point of passion and optimism. The occasions when Hilde talks about her true love for art and artists and shares what moves her and why it's important the podcast is at its best. At times, the podcast's point of view can become a bit cold and overly immersed in the "business" while leaving behind the love that drives her dedication to art...and the art world. When this sort of energy is in balance the podcast is at its very best.

Fun, intelligent and informative.

I live between New York and LA [in missouri]. I’m fresh out of school and want to understand more how the art world sausage is made, but I don’t have the opportunity to actually live those experiences right now. I read the art journalism and magazines, but it’s such a sanitized and proper depiction of something so much more personal and messy. Jerry and Matt talk candidly about current events, firsthand experiences, and insider knowledge that seasoned industry professionals have. It’s down to earth and realistic in comparison to other art world overviews (don’t get me started on the billionaire circle jerks on NOTA BENE). This podcast rounds out my understanding of things that happen across the country/world with conversation that is a lot like one you’d have with a friend. I’m not a big fan of the instagram account, but the convos and insight jerry has on here are worth listening to.

There is something so surprisingly addictive about this podcast. Jerry rambles and goes off topic but eventually gets around to making a good point. Matt is there to recap her rambles into something more succinct. It’s like having a coffee with your two crazy friends who really know the upper rung of the art world and are happy to explain things to you, gossip and offer their unfiltered opinions. The Art Basel Starter Park was actually sooo helpful! If I ever go back to the Miami show I am definitely following their advice! They’re very cute together and I always laugh and learn!

Relevant, timely conversations on a variety of art topics from two charismatic people who have and do walk in the inner art circles. Super fresh and entertaining!

I love Jerry’s observations on the art world. A lovely balance of sarcasm, poking fun at the absurdities of the whole scene, but still maintaining faith in the power and beauty of art.

Matt and Jerry are an entertaining and informative duo. They each have unique experiences that lend to an interesting and dynamic perspective on art, artists, and the art world. It is especially amusing if you are a NYC artist, in my opinion. I listened to one while walking around Tribeca and LES galleries which made it extra relevant and funny. Appreciate their wit, knowledge and sense of humor…..definitely recommend!

Finally an art podcast that is fun to listen to, engaging, and full of wonderful information. A weekly must listen!!

Just started listening to this show with episode 4 and stopped when I heard Jerry Gogasian state that after the Czech film “Daisies” was banned it was not screened again, perhaps she said in the usa, until 2005. Don’t know how she came up with this notion. Perhaps she was misled. Anyway listeners should probably take any information with a grain of salt.

Jerry is so refreshing, smart, and honest. Some art podcasts meander in a bad way- this one meanders in the most awesome way and circles back to the point of whatever she’s talking about making it worth hearing all of it. As far as the old reviewer who ripped the show over audio of what must have been the inaugural episode - it’s been fixed. Sheesh! Give a new hour long FREE show a chance to work out the kinks.

Instagram’s meme-queen strike again with this fabulous discussion of all aspects of contemporary art. Jerry and Matt are a perfect pairing with real insights about the art scene coupled with a refreshing lack of pretension. Candor is a rare commodity in the art world and it’s fascinating to hear discussions about issues too often ignored or only tacitly acknowledged. Also, it’s cute and hilarious. Love this podcast! Jerry is whip smart and engages her guests with thoughtful and insightful questions. A must listen for anyone interested in the art world.

I don’t see how you can get people of such distinction and character and then record their audio with zero care. It is impressive how poorly these are recorded. The levels of some are so inaudible I had to see if this was a Punk’d podcast. Was I being punk’d? The crazy thing is we have reached a level of podcasting technology where it is pretty hard to mess up, but you managed to do it.

Smdh curators are destroying the value of art making. This is a podcast for people who cage the canary. If you like reinforcing the trickle down art incentive system that has made the fine art world a joke you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE this podcast.
