One of the best out there
If you love Retrospective type podcast this is one of the best out there. They pick great games and take their time going through them. Just the perfect type of podcast for me. It’s like getting to live through these games from my childhood again without having to play all the way through them. Great job guys, I hope there are many more episodes to come.

    What a gem
Discovered these guys when I was searching up stuff on Xenosaga (their current season), and saw a back catalog of amazing games. Started with ff8 and am about to do the next season. Chris and Eric are hilarious, insightful, and worth your time to listen to. Also Fakenet will you marry me.

    I LOVE this Podcast
I only give it four stars because there are episodes that have some editing issues that made me wonder if I was stroking out.

    Witty, smart, and highly detailed
Chris and Eric rock. They play off each other super well, it’s like hanging out with a couple guys with a bottle of whiskey and even though you never have a chance to get a word in, you don’t really want to. Thoughtful and interesting with hilarious in jokes they are more than happy to bring you in on.

    Funny and Full of Personality
It’s a joy to listen to Eric and Chris dissect some of my favorite JRPGs and even the ones I haven’t played they paint a colorful and hilarious picture of the games events. Character reads I would’ve never thought of, next to a biting wit make every listen an awesome experience! Keep it up guys!

    My favorite long-form RPG podcast.
Hands-down the best longform RPG podcast. Two funny, smart friends playing through some of the best SNES/PSX-era RPGs, in hilariously meticulous detail, from item drops to musical cues. Thoughtful, sometimes poignant, commentary mixed with random personal anecdotes. One of the only podcasts I listen to at 1x speed. Make sure you start at the beginning of one of the podcast "seasons"! And just wait till you meet the Fakenet…

    Best RPG boys
I am glad that some people decided to make a podcast specifically for me, a late 30s JRPG nut who’s too old and busy to play games anymore but is still trying. Extra applause for Chris, a fellow Dad Gamer. This is the most essential podcast available for anyone who spent 100 hours in Xenogears in 1999 and still thinks about it today. I’ll be subscribed until they quit or run out of games to cover

I can now remember the best day of my life.
I vividly remember scrolling through Reddit and seeing a Xenogears subreddit post in my feed (this isn’t a common occurrence). While scrolling through the comments I see this podcast mentioned along with high praise, and I think to myself, “why the heck not?” I am now a changed man for the better. Thanks for the amazing experience, guys.

My dudes do a great job
If you played PSX RPG’s, this is a great follow. Chris and Eric (and FakeNET) do an amazing job of telling every detail. It felt like I was playing the game while listening at work. Really great job.

    Top-Notch JRPG Analysis
If you are like myself, and loved the heyday of JRPGs, this podcast will teleport you back to the good ol’ days and help you relive those times. The most in-depth gaming analysis you’ll find in podcast form, and the hosts have excellent chemistry as well. Highly recommend!

I didn’t know I needed this podcast until I started listening
If you love Xenogears and have spent sleepless nights thinking about it, this podcast is for you. Don’t even question it. Just press play. The hosts’ subtle humor, great vocabulary (seriously) and propensity to initialize the fakenet make this podcast a joy to listen to. I also love the editing-in of the sound effects and game music. As they say, the music just ties the whole thing together (chef’s kiss). Can’t wait to listen to the Chrono Cross season after I kill god (i.e. finish the Xenogears season).

Worth it for more than nostalgia
I usually dislike retro gaming podcasts since a good amount of the hosts' interest and excitement about games is about the memory of the game rather than the game itself. RA is an exception. They may have good memories of what they played but they are attentive and reflective enough to bring a new appreciation to old games. As a result, the podcast is worth it not only for the entertainment of listening to the hosts play PS1 classics but genuinely interesting for their commentary.

A Must If You Played It
Really great in-depth analysis and humor. Everyone chimes in perfectly and has great chemistry. Definitely scratches my nostalgia bug. Will be listening to other series from them. Legit 5 stars.

    Feels Like Home
Having played through Xenogears for the first time alongside one of my closest friends, and both of us regarding it as one of our favorite classic games of all time, this podcast feels like a direct parallel to how we experienced it. Just two bros talking about a game with so much depth it might as well be a work of art, despite all the development quirks. This podcast feels like a hybrid between reexperiencing the game as a whole, and analyzing it & its character years later with a lot more information available than there was at the time. Yes, we will kill God 👍🏼

    Awesome Podcast
This is one of my favorite games of all time, truly a masterpiece. It’s awesome to hear other people’s opinions on it because I’ve only known two other people that played it so I get to hear some different takes. The method the hosts use is awesome, they vaguely remember the full story so it’s almost like they’re playing fresh. Keep up the good work guys

    Very Promising Start!
Quite a niche subject for a podcast, but I’m not complaining. Xenogears is probably my favorite game of all time, and these two guys are definitely up to the task of analyzing this beast. Good editing, plenty of unforced humor, and insightful discussion of the highs and lows of this flawed masterpiece.
