Tenaciouss_TGood; Could be GreatI’m always confused as to why the podcast starts mid-conversation. The discussion gets cut up with musical breaks and I feel like it’s more of a “podcast-lite.” This is confusing to me because it seems to be academically oriented, but yet, any academic book I’ve ever read requires deep engagement with the topic. This podcast is good (and I always love the speakers and topics), yet it seems to be so fast. I would prefer to hear the 2-4 hour version of these conversations. I acknowledge that would require much more work from a production standpoint and would make it more difficult for some folks to get scheduled, but as someone who studies these topics deeply, I’d love to hear this podcast move toward more long-form.

Lauren BrwnGreat contentSuch a fabulous and thought-provoking podcast. It is rare that I don’t pause and chat with my family about an episode’s content as I listen. I’m so glad that this is out in the world to keep my mind working through the biblical world in both deep and fun ways!

S. TrouwWorth your timeThis podcast shapes how I think. What more can you ask? It helps me to understand the world. It changes how I read the Bible. This is my favorite podcast out there and the one I listen to most consistently. Dr. Johnson for class president!! <33333

ctrlalt1990Great Podcast!Along with OnScript, this podcast has greatly enriched my seminary and biblical studies experience. I've both learned a lot and have been exposed to wonderful scholars (and their work). Really big fan of the poetry and wisdom episodes!

Joe ScibbeGreat scholarship, accessible to non-scholarsDr. Johnson and crew provide, deep, engaging, thoughtful, timely access to scholars doing varied work in the Hebraic tradition. Helpful for Christians and non alike. They manage to make heavy ideas understandable to everyday people.

Rhodes7777777777777Outstanding, Accessible Resource for Anybody Interested in the BibleThis podcast is outstanding. As a Bible scholar, I'm always disappointed by how hard it is for non-academics to get excited about the Bible. The interviews and lectures on here, though, take some of the most important scholarship about Scripture and present why it matters to issues we care about deeply in our culture- just politics, economic life, family, etc. It's extremely accessible, but very rich. I highly recommend it.

Keithr.Reading the changing culture thru the lens of unchanging ScriptureFor such time as this where there are so much diving voices and extreme views, hidden agendas, conspiracies, injustices and unrighteousness abounding, CHT provides much resources to form faithful biblical perspectives for all Christian exiles and pilgrims.

Fellow OT LaborerAll Things HebraicI was introduced to Dru by Jonathan Pennington, and immediately appreciated his academic acumen and ability not to take himself too seriously. The character and candor of Dru and the team adds to the value of the topics they discuss here. If you’re looking for Hebraic philosophies once thought to be deeply embedded in the OT, you’ll find in these topics that they are incredibly blatant and clear. Dru and his team provide a humble environment to discuss difficult topics, but always with a mind to what the biblical authors presented as a “love God and love neighbor” worldview. If OT discussions are your gig, you will not be disappointed.

The Terry ClanFuller perspectiveIf you’re a teacher or a student looking to expand your knowledge of the Bible, of Judaism/Christianity, or of ancient philosophy, CHT is an excellent podcast for you. Tracing the philosophy of one of the most sophisticated yet subtle of ancient peoples, CHT offers information and perspective that can aide all people—religious and non-religious.
-
hkemphThis podcast will bless your dayCHT has helped me gain Biblical perspective I never could have imagined. Dr. Johnson takes seriously the context in which the Bible was written and took place and each podcast episode shines light on a little nugget of perspective. It has inspired me to ask more questions and give deeper thoughts to the context of the Bible.

dsharma**In-Depth & ThoughtfulI really enjoy listening to the podcasts!! I often wonder what Scripture has to say about modern issues, how it has influenced cultural thinking, and how to study its more mysterious aspects. Relieved that I can have a reliable source like this one to aid my inquisitiveness into Christianity.
-
rachaelanackerGreat podcast!Really enjoyed last week’s episode on scripture and policing in America. It was a thoughtful look at a difficult issue and was helpful to me as I process current issues.
-
p2pAlways thought provokingI am grateful for the Center for Hebraic thought. Along with their challenging articles, the podcast content is relatively fresh and striking. Anyone who is a serious thinker and interested in religion should benefit from this podcast, but Christians ought to take what’s here and grapple with the implications of the neglected part of our bibles: the “Old Testament”
-
JozimoGreat Resources for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of Hebraic thinkingEach of the podcasts are rich, insightful, revelational in imparting the gems hidden in the Hebraic thought and worldview! I would recommend you to listen in and broaden your understanding of how the ancient wisdom are so applicable to today’s issues!

asa BiblePlease listen if you want to know more about the Bible. Please listen to this podcast! Dr. Johnson and the CHT team do an amazing job of bringing the Bible to life, and being able to dig deep into the true narratives that Biblical authors. They are able to pull on the strings throughout the Scriptures and weave together the story of God’s restoration. So much content, so many facts, lots of quality in this podcast right here!
-
Max & Erin MoyaA great podcastI recommend and enjoy the Center for Hebraic Thought podcast, focusing on current topics and how the acient biblical authors may have thought or dealt with things we do today. They typically have different speakers sharing their thoughts and wisdom on different matters. It is a great podcast that really makes you think.

Jon SedHonest reviewMy introduction to this podcast was through connections with the broader work of Dr Dru Johnson. I like how succinct each episode has been so far. I enjoy the content so far, too. And from what I know of Dr Johnson’s expertise in the field of Hebraic studies, I’m excited about what the future holds for this center and it’s podcast outreach. But I can’t give five stars honestly to a fresh podcast. Four-out-of-five is the best I can offer at this point. Maybe later reviews will be a five (or three). I just don’t know. I am hopeful it’ll become a five, though.
