This is a really unique story that blends many elements into a fascinating and very lighthearted tale. It gets much more impressive as it moves along especially after learning the story behind it!

Ghostly Thistle mentioned this podcast on her show and I’ve been HOOKED! The story is amazing. The narrator has a wonderful mid Atlantic 1920s voice. I’ve caught myself with my mouth agape and hand on my chest listening to some of the twists and turns. A wonderfully fun jaunt!

This is a story that is extremely well-written and told. The flow from episode to episode is tremendous. I found it very hard to listen to only one episode when I found this tale. Truly a great podcast for putting on the headphones and letting yourself get caught up in the story. Highly recommend giving it a listen.

Just discovered this show and I am hooked. Great pace and great story telling.

I discovered the story of Maude late but once I did, Wow! Just Wow! I immediately binged the whole thing. If you are looking for a tale in which you can totally immerse yourself, contains a steady stream of surprises with a narrator whose voice borders on mesmerizing I’d not look any further.

It started a little slow, but I adore this podcast. It’s creative & leaves me wanting more each episode.

This podcast is AMAZING! The premise is so incredibly unique. My husband who isn’t at all into podcasts or audio stories loves listening because of how original and entertaining it is! I have nothing but glowing words for the show. Just go listen. Do yourself a favor. Listen now! Update: I’d had a hard time staying connected to the podcast between seasons. Also not sure about the direction of season 4 either. It went from an entertaining story about Maude’s journey as a magic unusual to a story with unnecessary love interest conflicts that don’t seem to help move the story along that much. We will see what the final few episodes of the series bring.

The arching story is super interesting and that’s what kept me going with this podcast. A few things to note: 1) the wet mouth noises the microphone picks up is difficult to ignore for anyone with sensory issues/misophonia 2) it isn’t enough to just say half the cast is non-white/BIPOC like was stares in season two especially with a form of media that holds no imagery. Which is why in season 4 it came as a shock to me that noble James is black. There is a way to write BIPOC characters without being stereotypical or insensitive but just a blanket statement of “hey guys half the people are POC” in passing doesn’t do what you may have thought it did. 3) Season 3 was very erratic and Maudy seemed manic

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this podcast. It’s magical, beautiful, well written and performed. I’m always sad when the episode wraps up so soon. Leaves you on the edge of your seat eager for more!! Well done!

It is completely unbelievable that a show this good, a story this enchanting, writing, vocabulary, descriptions. The way it can get in your head like reading a book and “seeing it”, is done by one person. If you want best seller, top quality fiction this is it right here. A diary style story of a girl who is caught up in a magical and unusual world must find her way through on her wits, resolve, and moral standards. I have gobbled this up and I really can’t wait to see what other treasures Minerva Sweeney Wren will gift to us.

This is one of my favorite podcasts and MSW tells an amazing story. There have been times I have been very nervous for Melinda and her friends, and I have to keep reminding myself that she most likely survived her peril since she's reading what she wrote in her diary. I recommend it to everyone who likes stories, likes writing, or likes magical realism stories.

Binge listened to the first season. Just loved it. Period pieces can sometimes be tough, people keep imposing modern mindsets on the characters and endowing them with other characteristics unknown in the time period, but this show... got it all right!

This is a fantastic, original story told in a really lovely way. I love the narrator! The episodes are 10 minutes long yet contain a large chunk of story material. The story keeps me gripped constantly. The great plot is made better by the well developed, complex characters. I relate to the main character a lot and am really enjoying all the fantastic magic and world building. Highly recommend!

I don't normally go for the single narrative podcast, but Ms. Wren's delivery is very engaging and entertaining. I look forward to more of this enchanting tale!

This takes me back to my childhood. What I mean to say is, it reminds me of the books on tape I used to listen to when I was younger. The narrator, that is to say the main character, has a sense of humor and wonder about her that's refreshing. The plot is very intriguing and not predictable at all. It starts off as quite light and airy and moves into the unknown, stiring up the right emotions when need be but never so heavy that you want to pause it. It's too interesting for that. I could go on about how much I enjoy listening to this but I doubt it'd be very coherent lol. Bottomline, it's very enjoyable and you should try it out! It's well-acted, has interesting and believable characters and a very interesting plot.

I sincerely enjoyed this podcast so much! Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it twisted in another direction. I also really like the diary style narration, because it leaves us not knowing anything more than the main character at any given moment. It’s a great listen for fans of fantasy/sci-fi fictional podcasts!

This series is so creative, fun and whimsical! I highly recommend you take a listen if you're looking for an enjoyable evening/afternoon/morning/anytime!!

Minerva, perhaps you could do 2 episodes a week, pretty please?

This podcast is a delight. It reminds me of old classic children's books I used to listen to on tape - not in terms of content or even necessarily pacing, but in that wonderful feeling of being drawn in to a story and having the narration actually ADD to it in a meaningful way. This podcast is at turns creepy, hilarious, and thought-provoking, with a storyline that somehow manages to be both nostalgic and innovative. It strikes just the right balance of tingly mystery and high level humor, and it will keep you coming back for more. Do yourself a favor and listen to it... if you dare.

I first expected to just listen in the background, but at the first sentence, my husband and I stopped everything we were doing and gave our full attention. The style and tone are captivating. The main character feels familiar in all the ways one would happily admit to want to be quirky and curious. There is mystery and tone that makes you feel like you were sent in time while feeling relatable enough to bridge the gap of decades. I look forward to more podcasts and literature from Minerva. Truly an up and coming talent to watch floursih.
