Isra R RNot for meUnfortunately this is not the kind of podcast I'm looking for. I imagine this would be my cup of tea if I were looking for a long conversation where movies are tangentially discussed. The hosts seem to have a great time, though! đ

LR369565 stars! The ONLY podcast to reference the enormous elevator at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto multiple times. 5 stars!

KYBP6254144564No SubstanceIt would be nice if somewhere in these two hour + episodes the movie could be discussed.

dvaddMy Fave PodcastI an a self-proclaimed cinefile and this podcast seriously got me through the pandemic. Their deep dive into the film with an eye to both industry tides and pop culture of the time is incredible. And did I mention so much fun!! On top of this, as someone who works seasonally at TIFF their passion for their Festival experience mirrors my own. I honestly feel that we have been sitting together at the same screenings. Thanks for everything Joe and Chris!!

GoldenCompassMy fav podcastHonestly itâs a little bit embarrassing how obsessed I am with this podcast. Love Joe and Chris, theyâre both really knowledgeable and funny, plus they have really great voices (grating or annoying voices are a deal breaker for me)! Whenever Iâm driving alone I put on an episode and talk back to them like weâre friends hanging out at a bar trivia night.

Alek MMostly great* Wonderful when talking super intelligently and sensitively about the actual films. * Rather soporific when spending ages on the spotty details of ancient Oscar horse races and drawn-out quizzes. (Regardless, bless the hosts for covering the expensive supposedly classy stinker Random Hearts, in which the driving mystery is why the affair, when all the while the Ford policeman characterâs pushy, domineering behaviour makes it very clear why his wife might want to start a serious relationship with a high-powered lawyer who could probably help get her out of that marriage safely.)

StephC123Love Joe and Chris!I have been listening to this podcast for a year or more and should have rated earlier as itâs consistently been a favorite. Chris and Joe really make it feel more personal and inclusive by talking to the audience saying âyou guysâ instead of it just being a conversation between the two of them. The format is great with the 60 second plot description and IMDB game. I havenât always seen the movie they are discussing but every episode is still enjoyable.

Lois SanbornI, too, was radicalized by The HoursThis Had Oscar Buzz is everything I could hope for in a Podcast. Smart, funny, and knowledgeable hosts talking about the history of films that have been touched (and destroyed) by Oscar buzz. The icing on top includes, but is not limited to: actress stanning, the IMDb game, random pop quizzes, endless RPDG references, great guests, and the fact that I now know others are also thrilled by the way Elizabeth Taylor says âGladiatorâ. Now please, Joe and Chris, start a Patreon dedicated to movies that received one or two Oscar noms but fell short of expectations. Those count!!

RajsupastaMake the episodes longer ...yes Iâm serious.Love this show! The hosts always say they need to stop talking because they donât want to make the episodes too long - but PLEASE keep talking! I know others may disagree but Iâm a fan of the longer episodes when you really have the space and time to get into the details of the film and the Oscar history of it all.

Gerard KennedyOne of the best hours of my weekThis is one of the most fun, knowledgeable, and nostalgia-inducing podcasts out there! As a longtime former awards season writer (InContention), I tune in every week for a trip down memory lane, that also induces reflection on the present.

the_jr__Great but a little too long!I love the hosts and I love the topic but the episodes are just a little *too* long and could really use a little more focus on the Oscar context. Otherwise, itâs really great!

mattyhughEveryoneâs a winner! This podcast is a must listen for anyone who likes Oscar. From underrated gems to films that DOA Joe and Chris have it covered. After a couple listens youâll be playing the IMDB game at hour next social gathering. But who am I kidding? If youâre reading this review you probably already do!
