Pita Pan PiperSuch a fun podThanks for the insight into your present and past as a gay man. Such anecdotes are not shared often enough these days. Also, bring back the Jockstrap Stories! Those are epic. Sincerely, a fan

johncsingletonTrue enjoymentJoey I do truly enjoy your stories and personal insights. We all approach each day with expectations and fears sometimes realized and at times receive blessings. Each of us have overcome sickness, tragedy and brokenness. I choose to believe in hope for greater times and your ability to share personal experiences as well as those of others gives rise to better understanding and builds faith. Please continue to gift to me and others these wonderful stories.

Ellul44Love the Show!!Hey Joey, I like you feel the same way about venturing out. I’ve had my shots but still feel leery about meeting people in a large area. I’m sure I’ll get through it, but with my immune system compromised also, I think I’ll take baby steps. Thank you for the Podcast. I love hearing your stories of the past. I’m 52 and can relate! Love you and keep up the great work!!!

DoctorrmcMistakes Are Not MistakesHey Joey, I’ve been listening to your show for a couple of years now. I want to thank you for “Mistakes Are Not Mistakes”. Sometimes I find myself almost tortured by things I have done in my past that were “mistakes”. Thanks for getting me to see I’m not giving myself credit for all the right and good and successful things I did. Keep up the good work.

CloudyMangoToo long, too rambling. It takes a lot of work to make a good podcast. Long podcasts take exponentially more work. Sorry Joey, but after a few minutes you are losing your audience. Hone your idea to a single sentence. Once you have attained that level of focus, then you can build around it. Otherwise, the podcast talks around a topic and never gets to the point. It’s too muddled and far too lengthy. If what you want to convey cannot be entirely expressed in 20-25 minutes, refocus, and re-edit it again. Else do all of that and then break it into segments. Looking forward to hearing a focused—much shorter—podcast.

PismelledBad format changeI’m going to miss your wonderful stories, but refuse to sit through another 5-minute political lecture from an ill-informed lemming.

edgemeisterAddicted!Found this podcast a couple of weeks ago and am completely addicted. Yes, I'm an older gay guy myself. Joe's show is informative, entertaining, sexy, and just downright fun. While staying current with the latest broadcasts, I've also started back at the beginning and listening to every episode. Keep them coming!

nightmare128AmazingJust started listening to you yesterday and I’m hooked. I love your voice and content. I’m 29 , but I think it’s almost completely relatable even if you aren’t over 50. Something’s never change. Great to get someone else’s perspective on issues in the gay community.

k - dawgKen from PAGlad your back, and what a horrible scary recovery as I heard more. Looking forward to hear your approach to getting yourself back up, tricks and tips are good to hear...I have the same low points. And you know I'm looking forward to the next one -big time! Keep up the podcasts, so very relatable for many (old and young)

WafflefordinnerDoesn’t keep his wordThe podcast in the start of every year sets high bars for what’s to come, and he has never followed through. It doesn’t necessary mean bad, but it does feel like the podcast is baiting people. The upload is very inconsistent and the episodes he promised or to update his audiences on never happens. Very disappointing because there are people who do exactly what they say, and I think this host is all talk.

ChasnudeguyFINALLY....Someone who gets it (me). Just found this podcast and started at the very beginning... I have never felt so at home in my own thoughts as I do when I hear yours. Every gay person should listen and learn. What a wonderful job Joey does! Thank you Joey!

duskbuddieEither be sexy or don’t.“Interview with a Gay security guard” is a great piece that I feel everyone should listen to despite the following review. I found this podcast from Joey’s Jockstrap Stories and I’ve listened to almost every episode of Older Gay. On one hand, I appreciate the intimacy- it’s insightful to listen to the memoirs a fellow Gay man of a different generation. On the other hand, I feel a little duped. Maybe my hormones are too wild but I felt teased and disappointed by the “hot” and “sexy” stories as they’re mostly anecdotes of voyeurism, which is cool and all but more than half of the time it’s false advertising. Beyond the sexual frustration, Joey, I know self promotion is important but you spent far too much time in each episode asking for the attention: I’m already listening, give me what I want and I’ll come back. Also, I find the excuse “we are all guys here” really diminishes the truth behind those locker room glances (because you are looking for fun not just ‘science’) and it feeds into the stereotype that gay men are predators looking for the opportunity to pounce.

Jamison1701eGreat podcastI’ve been listening to your podcast for the past couple days and loving it. Can’t seem to stop listening to it. Keep up the good work
-
Madd773FantasticI have listened to several episodes and I can’t seem to turn it off. I enjoy hearing your stories, insights, and ideas. As a guy in my mid 30’s who is into older men, it definitely helps me understand my partner better and where he is in his life.

BilboeanReview from Mr.IanLove the podcast. My complaints: Why are so many episodes missing I would love an explanation for this
-
PLDbrooklynGo with your gutI don’t think you should listen to reviews. I don’t like or agree with everything you say or how you do the podcast but I listen because it’s genuine. Thoughts and prayers as you have your medical treatment
-
iheartMB2Not just for older gay dudesReally love listening to Joey talk— only suggestion would be lose the trivia and add in more hot & horny stories :))
-

-
QXBearGet Off My LawnPreachy old guy who steals peoples underwear and uses marijuana yet condemns younger people when they hit on him.

Dave LA 2019Joey’s voiceWhat a great sounding voice!! Wow! Date I say it’s a sexy voice! Yeah I will! Keep it going Joey!! Woof!!!! You might want to try Extenze for your boner issue! They work really great for me without the side effects you described.

greehuruBoringGoes on way too long.
-
chan189Get to the pointI started with the naked jocks episode pretty excited to hear your story.. 20 minutes of incredibly obnoxious talk I finally stopped listening and went to another podcast. A suggestion - don’t talk about so much random stuff you’ll lose listeners

Quoth RavenOlder, wiserLove the podcast. Mr. Hernandez has useful advice (although, it can be a slow build up), but his voice is so sexy that I don't mind whatever he has to say. :)

-
Jimbo125This Podcast really checks my boxesI really enjoy this podcast because he talks about the things I'm interested in and does it from the perspective of an older gay man, something that is sorely missing from our community. From his infotrmation about older men's health issues, psychological and emotional issues for gay men, to his erotic stories, he checks all the boxes I want to hear about. I can't say enough good about this podcast. I hope he continues...he puts out great content!
-

montmayorGreat podcastI’m 55 and I am finally out and I’m finding it very difficult connecting with gay men, your podcast is entertaining and informative so I thank you so much
-
Rikg69Older gay for older gayI’m a 67yo gay male who just recently found this podcast. I’m really enjoying this unique perspective since it is geared to those in my age range. Over the next several months I plan to work my way back through the prior podcasts and look forward to many hours of enjoyment.
-
indiana rick 1963Great additionWhat a delight to find this podcast. As a gay man in his mid 50’s this podcast is both refreshing and timely. Thank you for your work and great style
-
jonathanmqzNiceI’m young and listen to this. So I guess it’s not only for old guys
-
813jAre you speaking directly to me?I am 35 years old and never would have thought that a (well spoken) gay man of 60 would so effortlessly relate to my life. I feel like my long lost big brother is schooling me (in a good way) on a gay life I thought I already had all figured out. My only complaint is that nobody told me about this before now. I tuned in too late to vote for the podcast awards but am really hoping I am the 100th 5 star rating! Nonetheless -I highly recommend that gay men of any age especially listen. As a gay man myself (came out at 16) there are things I know from experience, things I have heard about and things I didn’t even know were a “thing”. He covers it all. This podcast is entertaining, informative, erotic at times and overall a great listen.
-
Moose in NCVery entertainingGay stories; personal tales, often erotic; life advice you’ll want to adhere to; weight training info; it's everything a gay guy needs to know to get through life.
-
Juan Jose ColinSomething has to change...The host takes half the time to of the show to talk about his life and to beg people to vote for him for podcast awards. The show feels very repetitive, slow and boring. Sorry, I won’t be listening anymore. There are better shows out there and people don’t reread articles from magazines.
-
j carkinThank youI feel less alone when listening to your podcast...I’m A Worcester guy...we have a lot in common! It’s like having a friend!! You’re the best!!
-
Fake Orgasman ancient gay guy says,Joey is the best, and I enjoy his podcasts, very much. As a much older gay guy—or an ancient gay guy—I identify with most all of Joey’s anecdotal experiences, and I believe that younger gay guys will benefit and learn from what he has to say. Thank you for your dedication and for sharing, dearest Joey. XO, Danny
