Joey I do truly enjoy your stories and personal insights. We all approach each day with expectations and fears sometimes realized and at times receive blessings. Each of us have overcome sickness, tragedy and brokenness. I choose to believe in hope for greater times and your ability to share personal experiences as well as those of others gives rise to better understanding and builds faith. Hey Joey, I’ve been listening to your show for a couple of years now. I want to thank you for “Mistakes Are Not Mistakes”. Sometimes I find myself almost tortured by things I have done in my past that were “mistakes”. Thanks for getting me to see I’m not giving myself credit for all the right and good and successful things I did. Keep up the good work.

It takes a lot of work to make a good podcast. Long podcasts take exponentially more work. Sorry Joey, but after a few minutes you are losing your audience. Hone your idea to a single sentence. Once you have attained that level of focus, then you can build around it. Otherwise, the podcast talks around a topic and never gets to the point. It’s too muddled and far too lengthy. If what you want to convey cannot be entirely expressed in 20-25 minutes, refocus, and re-edit it again. Else do all of that and then break it into segments. Looking forward to hearing a focused—much shorter—podcast.

I’m going to miss your wonderful stories, but refuse to sit through another 5-minute political lecture from an ill-informed lemming.

Found this podcast a couple of weeks ago and am completely addicted. Yes, I'm an older gay guy myself. Joe's show is informative, entertaining, sexy, and just downright fun. While staying current with the latest broadcasts, I've also started back at the beginning and listening to every episode. Keep them coming!

Just started listening to you yesterday and I’m hooked. I love your voice and content. I’m 29 , but I think it’s almost completely relatable even if you aren’t over 50. Something’s never change. Great to get someone else’s perspective on issues in the gay community.

The podcast in the start of every year sets high bars for what’s to come, and he has never followed through. It doesn’t necessary mean bad, but it does feel like the podcast is baiting people. The upload is very inconsistent and the episodes he promised or to update his audiences on never happens. Very disappointing because there are people who do exactly what they say, and I think this host is all talk.

Someone who gets it (me). Just found this podcast and started at the very beginning... I have never felt so at home in my own thoughts as I do when I hear yours. Every gay person should listen and learn. What a wonderful job Joey does! Thank you Joey!

“Interview with a Gay security guard” is a great piece that I feel everyone should listen to despite the following review. I found this podcast from Joey’s Jockstrap Stories and I’ve listened to almost every episode of Older Gay. On one hand, I appreciate the intimacy- it’s insightful to listen to the memoirs a fellow Gay man of a different generation. On the other hand, I feel a little duped. Maybe my hormones are too wild but I felt teased and disappointed by the “hot” and “sexy” stories as they’re mostly anecdotes of voyeurism, which is cool and all but more than half of the time it’s false advertising. Beyond the sexual frustration, Joey, I know self promotion is important but you spent far too much time in each episode asking for the attention: I’m already listening, give me what I want and I’ll come back. Also, I find the excuse “we are all guys here” really diminishes the truth behind those locker room glances (because you are looking for fun not just ‘science’) and it feeds into the stereotype that gay men are predators looking for the opportunity to pounce.

I have listened to several episodes and I can’t seem to turn it off. I enjoy hearing your stories, insights, and ideas. As a guy in my mid 30’s who is into older men, it definitely helps me understand my partner better and where he is in his life.

Preachy old guy who steals peoples underwear and uses marijuana yet condemns younger people when they hit on him.

I started with the naked jocks episode pretty excited to hear your story.. 20 minutes of incredibly obnoxious talk I finally stopped listening and went to another podcast. A suggestion - don’t talk about so much random stuff you’ll lose listeners

I really enjoy this podcast because he talks about the things I'm interested in and does it from the perspective of an older gay man, something that is sorely missing from our community. From his infotrmation about older men's health issues, psychological and emotional issues for gay men, to his erotic stories, he checks all the boxes I want to hear about. I can't say enough good about this podcast. I hope he continues...he puts out great content!

Love the show and the lighthearted stories. Joey has a unique perspective on many topics with a great ability to be open and honest.

I’m young and listen to this. So I guess it’s not only for old guys

I am 35 years old and never would have thought that a (well spoken) gay man of 60 would so effortlessly relate to my life. I feel like my long lost big brother is schooling me (in a good way) on a gay life I thought I already had all figured out. My only complaint is that nobody told me about this before now. I tuned in too late to vote for the podcast awards but am really hoping I am the 100th 5 star rating! Nonetheless -I highly recommend that gay men of any age especially listen. As a gay man myself (came out at 16) there are things I know from experience, things I have heard about and things I didn’t even know were a “thing”. He covers it all. This podcast is entertaining, informative, erotic at times and overall a great listen.

Gay stories; personal tales, often erotic; life advice you’ll want to adhere to; weight training info; it's everything a gay guy needs to know to get through life.

The host takes half the time to of the show to talk about his life and to beg people to vote for him for podcast awards. The show feels very repetitive, slow and boring. Sorry, I won’t be listening anymore. There are better shows out there and people don’t reread articles from magazines.

I feel less alone when listening to your podcast...I’m A Worcester guy...we have a lot in common! It’s like having a friend!! You’re the best!!

Joey is the best, and I enjoy his podcasts, very much. As a much older gay guy—or an ancient gay guy—I identify with most all of Joey’s anecdotal experiences, and I believe that younger gay guys will benefit and learn from what he has to say.
