No point in having Olympics without the lads. Love every podcast!

There are very few social commentators who capture the essence of the “Australian Monday Morning Sporting Experts” quite as insightfully as these two chaps. For those who are new chums in our great country, may I politely suggest that listening to their programs will not really help you understand what it is to be an Aussie but the experience sure will introduce you to that clever knack that so many real Orstraylyuns have of kicking down the doors of boorish respectability and fake humility without being rude! Long may they rule over the tracks, fields, pools, gymnasiums and change rooms of our young but great nation.

I have little interest in sports however just love listening to these guys. Have done for years. Don’t ever retire.

All my knowledge and information on Rugby League comes from you two. Don’t watch the game, don’t like the game but love listening to Roy and HG talk about the game. Likewise the Olympics. “Funny as”!

I find myself in different Oz cities for work, so I’ve been listening to this podcast on my walks while getting some exercise…I’ve been laughing so hard that I have to stop, and I’m sure I look like a total nutcase laughing to myself 🤣 Note - those that don’t know these guys, please watch The Dream/The Ice Dream Love you Roy and HG, never change!

Maybe it’s because I am not Australian by birth… but this is one of the unfunniest things I have ever heard. It’s just inane gibbering to me. They seem to be cracking each other up - but certainly not me! The talk about cat meat in France is also slightly xenophobic considering they don’t eat cat meat in France?? They say they will eat anything on France but hello - crocodile and kangaroo? Just not funny to me, sorry.

Remember seeing them live at Balmain around 1986/87, perhaps it was ‘festival of the boot’ for Triple J, an iconic experience. I have listened and watched them without fail, since that time. In pride of place in my home I have an ‘Ian’ plate, my most treasured possession. Roy and HG are the soundtrack to my life! Bludge On!

I’ve been a fan since I was a teenager and now almost forty years later still laugh out loud several times each episode. There has never been a better pair of social commentators in Australia may their reign continue.

It great to hear the words of wisdom from HG Nelson and Roy on the radio during COVID-19 times and now back in normal times. Have loved listening to you guys at school sport back in the late 80’s and now continuing the tradition with my kids. Long may they grace our airways. Keep up the great work boys!!!!!

I’ve grown up with Roy & HG and I can’t imagine Rugba League without them. Enough said, the best thing since the Leichhardt Oval toilets.

Globally Rugby League is very small code of football, these guys emphasis and pull apart the joke the code is. It is all on the pretence that tgey are assisting. Well done gentlemen and keep it up.

I wish I could give this more stars. In fact, I may create another account on this platform to do just that. Rampaging Roy Slaven and H.G. Nelson are national treasures and hope they broadcast for many years to come. Whether you love rugby league or haven’t heard of it before, this is well worth a listen. Incredible job!

Truely great podcast helmed by the two legends I’d listen to as a kid with my dad. The material is updated, but the laughs are just as hard as they used to be, love the show.

I grew up with my dad listening to Roy and HG in the car going to sport on Saturday afternoons. I didn’t get the jokes back then but now as an adult, I love the fact that not only they’re still going strong but they’re as good as they ever were. Fantastic stuff.

Bludging and dodging are what these two do best. I longed for ‘The Dream’ to return this Olympics, and it has. Minus Fatso. Keeping the Olympics alive for us in the bleakest of times. P.S. Skateboarding and climbing are Aussie sports too - would love to hear the boys support for our stars Keegan, Oceana, Poppy etc

These guys are the cream of the comedy crop. I hate the olympics but Im laughing along each afternoon on Dodging Armageddon, their coverage of the Japanese Olympics. Highly recommend. Thanks guys youve brought some smiles in otherwise bleak times !

Roy & HG mean the world to me. They instantly transport me back to my childhood in the 80’s and 90’s where I would listen to them on Triple J whilst playing pool in my fathers shed as a young boy growing up in South West Sydney. Stepping into their world for an hour each week is something I hold dear, especially in this time when most are locked up in their homes. How does one sum up Roy and HG quickly? Think of stepping into the rabbit hole in Alice In Wonderland and entering into a magical world where too much sport is barely enough. A part truth, part fictional world that will leave you wondering have I entered the fifth dimension? Actually it’s more likened to tripping over a 6 foot divot left from a school fete tent in Watsford Oval, Lithgow. But you get the angle. Keep going as long as you can keep going guys. It is making a difference to many. Bless you both and Thankyou!

Wavin’Won Casey, Rex Mossop, Jack Little, et al were the shoulders that Roy and HG were ascended upon, before they took flight to immortality. Such grandeur of achievement but still in touch with the common man, how blessed are we to be alive in their time. Glory be!
