Nickelfish21Great jobHated that you stopped the updates.
-
TracyMcclPointless reoccurring episodesAll of episode 2 is a complete repeat of episode one. The same conversations replayed again and again. Skip episode two entirely. Word for word repeat
-
CtonkinNarration is terribleI listened to the first episode, and I can’t go on because the woman who is narrating has such a monotone voice with no emotion. How can you not have any emotion in your voice with a horrible subject such as this?
-
dsmouseBack to BtownDisappointing, just a repeat of old news . I hope the next segment 4 will offer something more interesting then a repeat of what we already know. .
-
Bagheera1!So goodThe sign of a great podcast? Constantly refreshing to see if it’s been updated.
-
Chippewa1976Season 3Yikes! Wish this had the old podcasters. The lady asking the questions is awful. Totally scripted and obvious questions. Probably could do without the second person.
-
NeeKayeEnjoying listening to thisYou’re doing a great job. Please look at the Amber Spradlin murder from Prestonsburg

sbarfield17What is happening? After the most recent and largely significant developments in this case, I have been waiting to hear an update from this podcast considering it’s sole focus is on the Bardstown cases. Nearly a week later and no update… only crickets. Not even a quick one with the preliminary details, has been released. This leaves me to question just how dedicated to solving the cases the hosts and staff really are in comparison to the entertainment value they sought to achieve. Journalistic integrity is vital. You committed to covering this case, so cover it in it’s entirety and stop living off the revived interest due to recent arrest of Brooks. At least give Crystal’s family that after using their tragedy to build your audience.

Ang4444CWell done!As a St Tammany resident I really appreciate the work you’ve done for Nanette’s family. Very interesting and very well done podcast!

Ky Southern BeautyKy Southern BeautyI’ve listened to this Podcast many times . Now that Brooks Houck has been arrested and charged for Crystal’s murder (alleged) which I believe to be so , proves so many theories that people interviewed during podcast to be true . Excellent podcast , Shay has been so dedicated to this sad story. Sherry Ballard is the Mother that all little and adult daughters dream of having . Kentucky has some of the best loving people in the entire world . Good ole southern hospitality folks . Like other states have the bad hiding among the good . My question is why Brooks why did you take Crystal’s life away from her 5 children ? Only an animal with a cold heart would do such an act . Again excellent podcast.

chasticyVery GoodUpdate: Brooks Houck has been arrested for the murder of Crystal Rogers! Loved this podcast! Wish there was more episodes.

SiggySue444New Episode IdeaLove the show. Very interesting especially living here in KY. I had a suggestion for a new story that you can do that took place in Falmouth KY where I used to live. It is the case of Tara Turner. She was found dead after a month she had gone missing. Turned up along the river and cause of death was drowning. 7 years later they still have not closed the case.

KateJessieExcellentThese journalists are spectacular and work hard to uncover facts and always respect the families who are left in such grief and pain.
-
closetspaceinvaderSeason 3 mehReally enjoyed seasons 1 and 2. I prefer pods that cover one case in depth over a whole season versus regurgitating facts about one random crime in one short episode. Will go back to listening if it returns to original format.

vhhhkkkkoiiI’m with the majoritySeason one great season to good season three deleted

kai999Beyond DisappointingSeason one — amazing. Season two — couldn’t get into it. Season three — the interview style was so strange and put on. But most importantly the way Shay has completely changed her accent is weeeerd. Anyone notice how she says investigator (investeegatooorr) and beard (beeerd) and suspenders (suspendoors)? I wouldn’t normally say anything but listen to season 1 and then listen to season 3, she sounds like she’s been coached to pronounce her words in a strange narration cartoon style. We keep rewinding on every time she says investigatooorrrrr lol. Plus not the best cases to report on. Love bardstown, just no need to go beyond it.
-
Myamya1998DisappointedThis is season is disappointing I loved Bardstown but this isn’t very good at all.
-
falconman56jjUnsolved is trash & the writers knew itS1 is great, S2 was slower & less good but still told a story. S3 Unsolved is a blatant cash grab to really pitch out every last $$$ from the Bardstown IP. I hate when podcast companies feel the need to ruin a great investigative pod by doing continuous seasons on a story they’ve beaten down. MOVE ONTO THE NEXT PROJECT! That’s okay, even if it’s not as successful. You don’t need to gorge your baby
-
0gtgirl0Something is oddI can’t specifically remember season 1 and 2 but what’s with the interviewing each other in season 3? That’s weird and unnecessary, just tell your side of the story. Other than that, this podcast is not bad.

44KarenLove all things Vault Studios!I heard that Will Johnson and Reed Redmond are behind this podcast. There’s not one Vault podcast that I don’t love. The way these crimes are reported & investigated are spot on. They are so thorough and done with compassion and kindness. LOVE you Vault Studios! True Crime Chronicles and The Daily Crime are also two of my favorites. Search Vault and you’re sure to find your new favorite podcast. ❤️🫶🏼🙏🏼❤️

KayeleonieBardstownI’ve always enjoyed this podcast.. wish they had more episodes or season sooner.. I’ve missed it a lot.
-
JaneNE77Couldn’t listenEvery sentence contains the word “actually”. Does anyone actually edit this podcast? “Actually” is an over used crutch word that actually means nothing. So annoying.

r1golden234BEST PODCAST EVER#hooked

Grizzly402Season 2Why was the family of Nan completely unlikable?!? They made several contradictions about her. Example she would never be ok with an affair but it is known she found out 2 years prior and didn’t leave. Sounds like the family needs someone to blame. Season 2 was completely one sided! Just repeating the same stuff the entire!
-
MauitwinAddictiveSeason 1 is irritating me so much! They need to get the FBI involved. The police aren’t cutting it.
-
Alroker59601EhThe second season was super slow. Could have been condensed a lot. Also- why are we interviewing people for a podcast in a diner?! All I can hear in most of the interviews are plates clanging and people talking in the background - very distracting.
-
n333kySeason 1 was GREATI’m ok episode 3 of season 2. I hope some actual evidence pops up showing Nanette’s in-laws were responsible. So far it sounds like she’s a paranoid brat that has problems w her husbands whole family. I think her sister is interviewed in episode 3. The sister says UMM ALOT. I feel like Nanette’s family is just grieving and needs someone to blame.
-
catemcaranUse of literally wrongA journalist should know not to use the term literally when they mean it figuratively. A shirt does not “literally scream out” at somebody.
-
JwaschyWaste of time8 episodes to drag out a story with pure speculation & no real answer. By episode two it was clear the husband and brother in law did it and her family wasn’t happy with how the case was handled. Remaining episodes just repeated the same things we had already heard.
-
you don’t needa know.AmazingBoth seasons are done very well. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m from Bardstown, and this is very respectful and well done. Thank you, and justice for crystal, the Netherlands, Tommy and Jason Ellis. Prayers for everyone in both seasons
-
KissabellsGood show now investigate AJ SchroederJustice for Nanette and AJ
-
ThasTurrableHeart breakingVery well done, easy to listen to and absolutely heartbreaking.
-
flann2jennWow - such a great podcast!Katie Moore does an amazing job telling this story. The scene was botched from the beginning. I feel so sorry for this family.
-
annieflo7Conflicted!Season 1 on Bardstown was amazing! Stellar reporting overall. Very engaging and lots of interviews with reputable sources. However the second season I couldn’t get past episode 3. Everything is speculation and absolutely no concrete evidence showing anything worthy of a podcast. Hopefully season 3 is better (if there is one)
-
05cam87Way opinionated against SteveLet’s be real umm. Lynnet sounds like a nut with a ton of mental issues. Sad that family and friends enable that behavior.
-
Hydrangea HideawayToo SlowI wanted to listed to this story but it’s just too slow, I only made it 24 minutes. The sound um must have been uttered 100 times in just 24 minutes. Excruciating.
-
jessilynn13BoredThe narrator sounds lethargic. It made this podcast really hard to listen to.
-
wilfulgreenFrustratingToo much family Too many opinions Lots of opposite opinions from same person “ she would never do this…..” “ he knew her better than anyone” Who knows anyone Then at the end “ I learned so much about Nanette ………..” ?!? Got know where
-
SHKY87Absolutely love!I became so invested in this podcast! I remember some of the Bardstown incidents happening so it was so interesting to listen to inside stories! I was so upset once I finished the podcast..I need more stories!
-
Christie in TNSweet NanetteI’m not finished listening yet but I just felt I had to comment on how well done this is. Great job on the podcast. I ❤️ Nanette. Her and I could have been great friends because I’m the same way about animals. I’ve had the same altercations due to dogs left in cars in the summer. I love my dogs and cats and I will say this, even if it killer me there is no way I would not go back in a burning house to get my dogs and cats. I know that’s dumb but that’s how much I love my babies and how much they mean to me. I’m not saying that Nanette did that or even would just I think/pretty certain I know that I would disregard all safety and try or die. Anyways great story and great podcast! I hope the family find the answers they all and Nanette deserve!
-
SandycottWay too longThis should have been a 2 hr podcast at most. Needs an editor!

marmalade57Fascinating story, questionable storytelling choices near the end of the podcastThe facts of this case—fire chief’s wife seemingly killed in fire— sound more like a novel than a true crime story, making it perfect for a podcast. The first several episodes of this podcast expertly presented the extraordinary facts of this case, giving the listener the necessary bits of information in a pace and sequence that enhanced the story. The producers also used interesting content to tell the story, such as dash cam audio from the fire chief’s vehicle when he was responding to the scene. However, it feels like the producers ran out of content near the end. One of the last episodes is pretty much just a recorded conversation between the victim’s family and law enforcement, a recording that didn’t reveal that much about the case and made my ears bleed. If producers felt that the recording was really that important to the story, they should have edited it down. I think the feelings and opinions of a victim’s friends and family should be valued, but this podcast has too much content from the victim’s family and friends saying the same things (often speculative things, at that) over and over and over again. They could have cut that content in half (at least) and accomplished the same objective of giving a voice to the victim’s loved ones. Cut some of that content and maybe a couple of episodes and this podcast may have been five-star material.

CStar3333Excellent!Excellent podcast. I hope eventually they get a resolution and find out what really happened to Nanette. The family deserves answers and this investigation was clearly botched from the beginning. Can anyone advise where to find the music credits to this podcast? The song at the end is truly haunting.
-
joeslummerSeason two...Is beyond, biased. Probably should have gotten insight from someone not related to the victim.
-
JkhdsjnjncxMust listen!Bards town was simply heartbreaking and unbelievable. The investigating is stellar and the story telling fascinating. From the sounds of it, season 2 will be much the same. I have listened to the first 2 episodes and can’t wait to hear more.
-
ebiegerInteresting story so far but…I’m enjoying the story and structure of season 1, but the narrator sounds like she’s completely bored. This is the second podcast where the female narrator is putting me to sleep. There’s nothing wrong with some inflection, in fact I highly recommend it.
-
GCR64Second season is bad!To many repetitive family interviews. No additional research was done by the presenter. Not worth your time.
-
Cozykitten101Season 2 is DisappointingSeason 1 is excellent. Season 2 doesn’t give any real insight to the story. The victim’s family is interviewed, but there is no other perspective given. Is anyone in the fire department or the police department frustrated by the lack of progress?
-
Rimi2001Creates an investigation type thought process ...Sometimes, when the investigation comes up with nothing, the reporting, such as this podcast, leaves you with insight from a point of view that is more personal & ends up leaving you with more questions. In my opinion, that is a good thing! If you have more questions that need answers, it creates more incentive to continue searching. So why all the negative reviews? People are stating that the victim sounds paranoid, but this could also be forced alienation & abuse. The dad or sister in one of the episodes asks her to come up for a visit, they had not seen her in awhile. She doesn’t go. Why? Maybe she wasn’t allowed to. She was scared of random, especially men, coming in for services. Maybe her life was threatened all along. Maybe she was told something would happen when she least expected it. Maybe she was scared of men m, in general, for some reason. All speculation, I know, it’s just another path to look at. If you have never been mentally abused or alienated, you may not think of looking in that direction. Narcissistic people can be extremely abusive, convincing & manipulating. Was that what Nannette was dealing with? We may never know, but I pray that the family receives the answers they deserve and that there is justice for Nanette.
