Feels like hanging with the girls!
OMG, how fun is this show?! It's basically 3 women sitting around geeking out about everything nerdy and celebrating all the strong women I LOVE in film & TV (from Mulan to Buffy). And it feels like I'm have a long lunch with my girlfriends having a fun and nerdy chat. Love it!

    You folks are my favorite
Funny, insightful, and full of feels, It’s like meeting up with my own geekery experts for pastries and hot chocolate after work to hear the latest scoops from wonderful works of genre. I deeply appreciate Cher’s punk rock personality, Courtney’s take-no-prisoners enthusiasm and Preeti’s positivity all of which create a progressive and preserved space to be geek. Keep up the good fight and thanks.

LOVE this show and these ladies.
Firstly, this podcast is worth listening to for Preeti's giggles in the background. It's delightful. I admit, I started backwards with most recent episodes since I heard Evie from the Mummy was mentioned, but I soon knew I loved the podcast. Feminist geek discussions with an ensemble, BOOK recommendations, con coverage - what's not to love?

It’s like hanging out with my best friends, nerd style.
I’ve waited too long to review, but I couldn’t help it, I was too busy catching up on ALL the episodes! Now maybe I can get some work done... In all seriousness, listening to these awesome ladies has helped me realize I am not alone! They use phrases I use which I rarely hear from others, they love many of the same obscure films, TV shows, etc., I was under the impression I was alone in loving. It’s so refreshing to hear them discuss the things I love, whether our opinions are the same or not. All the women bring something just a little different to the table but they are all intelligent and funny, making this podcast one of the highlights of my day. Their series on the Forgotten Women of Genre are some that I have saved to listen to again, and it’s like these nerd goddesses heard my prayer and created a whole new podcast based off of this series (originally only for Women’s History month). Just a warning, I tear up and/or cry listening to almost each of these episodes, so plan accordingly! Thank you, ladies, for making me (to quote the kids) feel seen, for never shying away from a topic, and helping me feel like I’m a part of the pop culture dialogue. Keep up the awesomeness and always, always, SPEAK GEEK LIKE A GIRL!

    Feminists... Assemble!!
This podcast is my new favorite thing!! I’ve spent the last 3 years of college studying representation in genre films and sometimes I don’t feel like I’m taken seriously because of it, but listening to Courtney, Preeti, and Cher helped me realize that there are other women like me out there who have a love for the nerdverse and that as women our voices and opinions are valid and can/should be taken seriously. This podcast never fails to inspire me and I can’t recommend it enough!

    So great!
If you are a nerd girl and love talking nerdy things...this is the podcast for you! This sounds like my friends and I when we get together and I’m here for it! Courtney, Preeti, and Cher bring great enthusiasm to discuss women and the nerd-verse and it is a great time for all, whether sitting and listening at work or listening to it while working out or letting it enhance a long drive! Thanks for helping me express my nerd self all the time!

And yes we all hate men.
We also love geek and nerd stuff. This podcast is everything to me. I’m actively sad when I reach the end if the episode, and realize I’ll have to wait another week to kick back and rage against the capitalist patriarchy machine. I love all of you!

    So much love
I am not always up to date on the different fan worlds, but no matter what I enjoy listening to you all discuss them. I love listening to your conversations about the amazing women out there, as well as the bits of pop culture that I sometimes have forgotten about or need more info on. So great! Thank you for all of the work you put into this podcast!

    New Fan of the Show
I had never heard of this show or the hosts, but someone recommended a specific episode to me, and I immediately followed that up with their recent episode about Avengers: Endgame. I love the enthusiasm of the hosts, and they gave me a perspective I wasn't seeing elsewhere. I've since subscribed, and I'm a happy listener. :)

    Best Part of My Week
I look forward to listening to you gals talk about all of the things I’ve loved since I was a young girl. It’s hard to find content like that one you put out where it’s all completely women discussing women in genre and I’m so happy this podcast exists. Can’t wait for the upcoming episodes!

    Loved Forgotten Women Of Genre
I’ve listened to Strong Female Characters off and on as I do, but the Forgotten Women Of Genre has become a daily necessity. I’ve always enjoyed the podcast, and this miniseries has been everything I like about it times 10.

Everything I want in a geek podcast!
I followed Courtney over from Trends Like These and stayed for EVERYTHING. These ladies are fantastic. They talk about all of the nerdoms that make my day, in a manner that is accessible, fun, and powerful! I’m so glad that I’ve started listening. In addition, my children listen. They listen, and they learn, and they ask questions and we talk. Cher, Courtney, and Preeti enjoy the fun, dissect the complicated, and explore the uncomfortable, and make it all accessible to different ages. I really appreciate that. Keep it up, ladies.

One of the best geek culture podcasts around
Between Preeti's laughter and publishing industry knowledge, Cher's direction and leadership, and Courtney's informed ep-eds on all things geek, this is truly one of the best geek culture podcasts around.

    Wonderful and empowering
I’m very glad to have found this show. It’s funny and gives a different perspective on media in which I’m interested. Their Forgotten Women of Genre series is inspiring and delightful. You should definitely give it a listen.

    Entertaining, informative, and necessary.
I’ve been a fan of the SYFY Fangrrls online writing for awhile now, so I’m long overdue to hear the podcast. Luckily, my entrance coincides with the “Forgotten Women Of Genre” series. It does not disappoint. Some of these stories (Marcia Lucas) I’m familiar with. Some (Helen Gibson) I’ve never heard of. But they’re all fascinating, regardless. Great stuff.

The podcast your feminist geek heart needs!
I have been a devoted listener since the very beginning and this podcast is always a highlight of my week. These ladies are unafraid to speak their minds for all the right reasons. I absolutely love their interviews which often lead me to new worlds whether it is in a book, film or television show. I love that they talk about real world issues and highlight the wonderful things women are doing to make change in this ever changing world. It has taken me many years to be comfortable with the fact that I have and always will be a nerd/geek feminist but these ladies encourage me to “speak geek like a girl” and be proud of it!

    Appointment Listening
I’ve listened to this podcast since it premiered. There have been some growing pains while Cher and Preeti figured out what the show was going to be, but I have looked forward to every episode. The guest appearance of the ladies from Thirst Aid Kit is a particular highlight. Courtney’s addition to the cast has been delightful and it really feels like they’ve hit their stride since coming back from hiatus.

    Forgotten Women of Genre
I’ve listen to three so far and have really enjoyed them! It’s nice to hear Someone finally reviewing some women who have accomplished so much but haven’t gotten the recognition. Thanks for sharing the stories!

The one with all the giggles
Any podcast where we get my girl Preeti laughing is a total plus. Bonus points for geeking out about SF, fantasy, film, TV, books, and Cher going on rants (which are *fire*). A great selection of interviews with different people in media from writers, to showrunners, to actors. Speak geek like a girl!

    Love it!
I feel like I’m at a sleepover with a bunch of nerdy friends. I love this podcast and it never fails to crack me up and put a smile on my face!

Helps me be a better Fan
I really enjoy the podcast. The chemistry between Courtney, Cher, and Preeti is awesome. I learn so much about myself and Fandom from listening. It helps me understand what I am doing right, and ways I can help make fandom better for others. Listening to different points of view on a fandom you are a part of is only going to help you, and Strong Female Characters does that a thousand fold.

I want to be best friends with Preeti!
I’m only a couple episodes in, but I really love the discussions taking place on this show, and find myself agreeing out loud with the hosts multiple times per episode. Love, love, love it. Thank you for putting out such wonderful content.

    Great job!
Really enjoy. Thanks for confirming my Keanu sledgehammer feels.
  • @WelchysGripe
    Annoying
Took these ladies 10 MINUTES of talking about dying their hair purple to finally get to their “Strong Females” podcast... wow. Way to hand your naysayers all the ammo they need. Some occasional interesting points on character gripes, but mostly just a lot of complaining without being fair to what they saw.

    Preeti and Cher are great!!
It's worth listening to just for the awesome co-hosts because Preeti and Cher are awesome. Their commentary is smart and the whole thing is a lot of fun.

This show would be a lot better if Preeti and the PoC’s that guest on it weren’t constantly interrupted by Cher.
  • Lauren Nettles
    Amazing
I love the hosts and the different guests! Hearing some fantastic women discuss media makes my heart happy!

    Charismatic, woke nerd podcasters
I did not know until today that there was another woman who also lived at the intersection of being a Leia stan and genre fan, and who also hung out at Pat Field’s back in the day. (Do you also have a ton of Neoprints on your beeper?) Anyway this podcast is really fun and energetic and smart and talks about things I want to hear about. Also it has slightly more edge than a lot of other genre podcasts, which I appreciate.
  • Cardboard Tube Knight
    Great.
    Really enjoying this so far.

    Emma Frost episode
Wholly mackerel!!! A group of folks that think like me. I love this! Talks of Sci-fi with gays, POC, queer, fan-fic, ships and canons(still learning about these definitions lol.). This is something young me needed to hear. Old fart me- hopes kids hear this and it’s helps them figure out who their are and that there are others like them. Nice job! Shipping right now- Wynhaught as friends and wayhaught well yeah, them too.
