    Civilized, thorough, witty
I very rarely travel to England so one would think that a podcast of four people talking about films they’ve seen, plays they’ve attended and exhibitions they’ve viewed would be irrelevant to me. Not so; Tom Sutcliffe always assembles a thoughtful group of writers, broadcasters, historians etc and they dig into what they’ve seen over the previous week. Have not missed an episode in years.

    Reviews politically biased
I look forward to listening weekly but lately the political bias has become too much. The reviews include phrases like “white privilege” and one review likened President Trump to Stalin. Really? Political correctness runs throughout the reviews and so sadly I will move on to other podcasts.

    My favorite podcast
I've been listening from the US to Saturday Review since 2010. I enjoy the format, the changing guest reviewers and Tom Sutcliffe as host. Although I'm rarely able to visit London, I feel I'm keeping up with the city's cultural highlights by listening to Saturday Review.

    Unbearable and pretentious
Listened to the review of Ishiguro’s THE BURIED GIANT and found it unbearable and pretentious beyond belief. Smug and self-satisfied, it’s the embodiment of everything that’s shallow and contemptible about literary culture.

    Saturday review
Smart and always interesting. Somewhat erratic in posting the podcast-but it is free!
