Extraterrestrial

1,571

Why do we think we aren’t alone? Extraterrestrial explores tales of alien encounters. Millions of people claim to have seen alien life, but no one can confirm any of it. Is there a more grounded explanation for these incidents, or is there really something lurking out there? Every Tuesday, we’ll examine reports of a different alien occurrence, and land on the most plausible explanation. Extraterrestrial is a Spotify Original from Parcast.

Poor Research and Lack of Understanding of Facts
Lt Col Halt used a micro cassette recorder to make record of his experience in Rendlesham Forest. The recorder was not used in “real time”, but was started & stopped repeatedly so he would not waste a finite amount of tape & to prevent dead spots in the recording. You assert that the “5-second” cycles of the lighthouse matched the cycle of Lt Col Halt’s recording. Not true for the aforementioned reason. Secondly, that particular lighthouse was physically blocked on the LAND side by a large steel plate. The steel barrier prevented the unnecessary and unwanted light intrusion into the nearby town & village. It’s amazing to me that you failed to research these important facts. You goal was obviously to debunk regardless of the facts. Poor work.

    Nice.
I came across this podcast by just searching for podcasts about U.F.O.’s and Aliens. So glad I did. I love it.

    FYI
All this “show” is, is a commercial for other shows. Used to at least be entertaining. 😕

    Nothing plays
Could it be that secret....very unlikely. Poorly managed, I probably won’t revisit.

Just discovered sad to hear u go.
Same at title says. I’ve just come across this podcast and it exactly what I’ve wanted, stories. Not news or “saucer” shaped tables on topics just stories I can get into and listen without keeping up on different ppl or news. Bummed there won’t be anymore episodes. Nice job gentlemen.

Ear wax production increased after listening
Some episodes are stretched out too thin to be interesting in two segments. Other stories are simply silly and and so unbelievable they’re not worth listening through to the end (e.g.,Valiant Thor). Narration is annoying too. I want like this subject matter. Get creeped out, entertained etc, but this does not deliver.

Computers voice drones on and on.
Well, the machine like voice in this podcast is demonstrating alienated life forms exist in the brains 🧠 of the producers of this banal podcast. Normal Hawaiian explains reality in a drone like monologue as he debunks all the fun ideas of space people and spaceships🚀 that UFOLOGISTS enjoy. Thank you for your opinions NOT.

To Parcast: Your research and story telling is brilliant, but then you immediately turn around and try to debunk everything you just described... in every. single. episode. Anyone who doesn’t believe in ETs isn’t going to subscribe. Your audience is the believers. You should acknowledge that and try not to destroy every theory out there. I’ve started cutting out about halfway through each episode just so I don’t have to listen to everything getting shot down.

    Ugh! Podcast clickbait
I wanted to be entertained by cool extraterrestrial stories. Whether I believe them or not, I just want to hear the story and be entertained. These guys tell the story for half or less than half an episode then spend the rest of the time concluding it’s all BS and you are poor sad simpleton if you believe any of it.

    Not very good
Poor research, leaving out facts or quotes from credible witness accounts. Too focused on practical reasons or opinions without actual proof to back up conclusions.

I can see the script in my mind
Good hosts, but my biggest issue is that they’re literally very scripted. It would be so much more of a podcast if it didn’t just feel like it was two guys reading off of a paper. I’m not saying that they need to improvise every episode, but it should have least have a more free flowing, conversational tone. My other major issue is why are ads for new Parcast shows their own episodes? On top of the ads for other Parcast shows in the regular episodes. Honestly, it sometimes feel more like an advertisement series than a series with the occasional ad.

Harvard Psychiatry professor John Mack was a much more astute and intelligent student of this phenomenon. J Allen Hynek John Keel Richard Dolan Jacques Valle Are much better writers on this subject. Much more intelligent and educated than these corporate hacks.

    Will be missed
Love this show and it has led to many other Parcast shows. So sad it will be on hiatus. Do the hosts work together on anything else? Their voices together is very soothing. While the stories are always very interesting, their voices are very calming.

    Great work
I love the stories and I’m sad to hear about the hiatus. I’m looking forward to what brilliantly researched stories are to come!

    Disinformation campaign?
They leave out a lot of other pertinent information with regards to lots of their topics.

    A 3 out of 10 ?!
I’m giving you the equivalent of your own “believability scale” on the grays because it’s that unbelievable you would have a podcast called Extraterrestrial when you clearly haven’t done enough research, and you reduce the subject to calling people “liars.” Betty & Barney Hill’s story isn’t believable? Paul Hellyer, a retired Canadian PM of defense, isn’t believable? The group sighting of grays by an entire school of children in Africa isn’t believable? Invalidating people’s experiences by saying they aren’t “believable” and throwing around the words “liar” and “fake” is unnecessarily judgmental and condescending. Sounds like the Jerry Springer show.

    I love this podcast!
This is by far one of my favorite podcasts if not my absolute favorite, I look forward to it every Tuesday with glee and can’t wait to listen! So sad to hear that it’s taking a break but hopefully it will come back soon!

    Under researched
I don’t consider myself a conspiracy theorist or a ufologist necessarily but it seems like they don’t cover all the evidence about certain topics. It’s seems to me that they are trying to analyze the people who believe or have witnessed UFOs more than the actual events that people have claimed to see. If you’re not going cover all the evidence or at least the most pertinent evidence then don’t even do this podcast anymore.

    So sick of parcast ads
No new updates. Just a bunch of shameless promotional junk. Just like every other parcast, corporate show. So sick of it. The ads, the promotional hype. Just give us a new episode?

Not a good show for believers
I've listened to every episode and basically they give a pretty good description on week 1 and then week 2, they rip everything apart and rate everything very low. They also seem to cover cases that are absolutely absurd, I've been listening since episode 1 and I've only heard a couple cases so far that are credible (out of the THOUSANDS of cases that are legit). I warned them months ago that if they just kept covering cases that they just tore apart at the end, I was going to give them a 2 star review, since the ratings is apparently all they care about.

    Informative and interesting
Great sources and information gathering. The hosts do a wonderful job of conveying the information. Information is analyzed and we are given a skeptical point of view which is quite appreciated also

    Thank you for the content.
Very enjoyable and appreciate your hard work and giving this series for free.

Do you purposefully de-bunk every episode?
I love the parcast networks podcasts, and I really like the extraterrestrial one because I'm a huge believer of life outside of our own in this GIANT universe, but most of the episodes that I've listened to are scored very low on the believability scale by you guys. So is the point of this podcast to de-bunk every single one you guys do? Because there are plenty of skeptics out there who make it their prime focus to de-bunk every single hard to believe story out there. I'm a loyal parcast listener and I listen to all the podcasts by them, but when the believability scale comes into play it always scores low in most cases, so I guess that just bugs me. I do really enjoy the podcasts though.

    I Want to Believe
This is a great podcast talking about many of the UFO cases I thought I knew very well. It turns out I didn’t know them as well as I thought I did.

You left out some very important details and lied about details in the miracle of the sun episode
I enjoy this podcast. But after listening to the miracle of the sun episode, I am concerned about your lack of research. Even the books that you mention were completely biased toward alien life. You left out details about the visitor stating that she was a Lady of the rosary. You conveniently left out details that two of the children with die soon. And he stated that the three prophecies were published after they came true. Two of them were published before the prophecies were fulfilled. The third one was written down but not published until later. This episode really disappointed me because you left out some details that were clearly known

    Awesome
Very well produced, researched and spoken. With all kind of connecting side stories. Love it!

    Entertaining!
This is a fun podcast that gives a good overview of many of the stories that form the basis of ufo lore. I’d give it five stars except for the frequent grammar errors and misused vocabulary. Don’t know if that’s the writer’s fault or the hosts mis-speaking as they read the script, but it takes the quality down a notch for me. Otherwise a well done show.

    Great podcast!
Love the podcast. Great research. Good layout. Solid narration. All around gold. Love the layout where the first part digs into the story, second part throws out the counter argument. Great job team

I love this podcast, informative and engaging. The production as a whole has the listeners attention in mind. Keep up the great work, love the show.

    Faulty Fact checking!
Your research is poor and minimal at best. Also what you seem to lack is the actual connection with these individuals! You should probably start evaluating the more difficult cases with video evidence! For example “the Nimitz case”. Either way I’m unsubscribing! I tried, I really did. But the Pascagoula case was the last straw. And the fact that you brought Phillip Klass into the conversation put the nail in the coffin for me!
  • TSCI1979
    Please change the introduction monologue
I’ve really enjoyed hearing a lot of the stories, but feel like the “Are we alone?, have we been alone?, will we be alone?” is off-putting. It feels like a poor attempt to copy the ancient aliens intro and sets the tone off on the wrong foot in my opinion.
  • DudiestDude
    Love it
Terrific podcast. You get the fun of the creepy alien abduction story, coupled with a rational analysis of what likely happened, so you don’t feel too silly for indulging.
  • Whrmpsend
    Rendlesham Incident is a 6/10?!
These clowns gave the most well documented UFO encounter of all time a 6/10 in believability. In other words a "D minus", so you know these guys opinions don't count.
  • H.T Ellison
    Great!
I like how the hosts don’t just tell the stories and say “this is the story, this is what we know, this is true.” Instead they come at each event with a very skeptical attitude telling each side of the situation well still being respectful of those involved. Definitely another great podcast from Parcast!
  • Cmrnrains
    Awesome
These folx are really nailing it. They know how to do this kind of podcast. They are the podcast equivalent to what you *want* a late-night History Channel documentary to be.
  • GrapplingwithIssues
Smooth but not open minded or fair to the facts
This is a smooth, corperate-like presentation - I like the beginning when they present the story HOWEVER their conclusions lead to disinformation - they *always* dismiss the facts presented by eye witnesses and others. Fail. Too bad.

    Look Elsewhere!
I never take the time to write out a review but this one has me going. I from the previews I’ve heard, I expected a non-bias storytelling experience that focused on the UFO phenomenon. Instead, you get a skeptic bias, poorly researched, and highly scrutinizing duo of guys, with incredible production value. I love so many of the other parcast shows, and in my opinion this is the worst. For example, the most recent episode about the Rendlesham Forest incident, they talk about an audio recording that is available publicly, give their opinion and fail to play it to let the listener make up their own minds. They cover the hot stories and give a smug summation in the end. If you want a non-bias podcast like this listen to Expanded Perspectives, they cover all the stories that this show covers and more. If your looking for a research heavy podcast, listen to Astonishing Legends. At the end of the day there are just better alternatives than wasting time with this show. Listen to Mythology to see what The Parcast Network is really made of.
  • Nouthetic Counselor
    Good Story Telling
The thing I like about this podcast is the way they tell the story and then render an opinion with a believability scale. I find myself guessing where they will end up. I'm usually close. Very entertaining!
  • mind chatterings
    This show is a hoax!
I thought this podcast would offer the same level of research as Astonishing Legends, but the research on this show is simple. It’s like they throw all the tabloid reports on the table along with skeptics books (which are often mentioned more than once in an episode). The hosts remind me of the TV commercial guys, they sound indistinguishable from one another. I have kept listening to this point (7/23/2019) hoping they would give just one event a fair hearing. I am unsubscribing tonight. I have healthy skepticism, but there is just too much evidence and testimony to say all of the UFO evidence and stories are hoaxes.
