V-SpainTrump Musk FuedJonathan Swan reports and Barbaro interrupts him: “Let me understand,” then repeats exactly what Swan just said. Yep. I got it the first time. You didn’t, Michael?? Sadly this is what passes for interviewing on The Daily. Great for middle school students (I guess) but insulting to adults. I listen to hear guest reporters not the irritating interruptions of hosts.

anomienousIrrelevantI’m desperate for some actual news, but it’s all pop culture puff. Musk’s personal life? Gen seX? Miley’s mental health? No depth, no reason to listen anymore. Shame on NYT.

JustOneTreeDisinformationSince the New York Times continues to “both sides” whether or not transgender people deserve rights (including lifesaving healthcare every major medical institution recommends), why don’t you just not “”report”” on them at all? Stop spreading disinformation that harms a vulnerable minority already under attack in the US and actually report on issues effecting significantly more Americans instead

GranLanFanModern Love Gen X SexGood for Mirielle that she got to have a sexual reawakening later in life but feel bad for her ex husband that per the interview they were married for 21 years, she was effectively disabled for 15 of those years, and then she’s magically cured of her disability almost immediately post divorce. That’s some bad luck.

TkotooThe ProtocolThis pod falls just under ten minutes of an hour long cast. In under two minutes it was noted that someone can be convinced that they are trapped inside the wrong body. I don’t believe that I can stomach that long of a period of a so-called “protocol” relations. Although typical America. The claim of being as singular, one, “United”. But on the inside, lack unity, totally separated by Party. Something like - OIL & WATER. If you can’t be as birth - mono - in your own body, your existence as multiple will only complicate you, and whom you are in company. Can’t you see our present presidency … massive complication. - s.jxn - ga

K9 and True CrimeRetributionI have listened with interest the coverage of DOGE, the tariffs, the Big Beautiful Bill, and the financial pros and cons. But I would be so interested in what the cost is to taxpayers as Trump exacts his revenge and forces his personal agendas against law firms, colleges, women, transgender people and even a former president. Surely we are all paying for this one way or another. Are we only “saving money” to spend it somewhere else that we, as taxpayers, will see no benefit?

ArtificialLeafCan’t stand Michael’s voiceMichael Barbaro does this weird thing in the intro where he sounds like he’s on his death bed. Then during the interview, it’s just constant “right, mhm, uhuh, yep” followed by “very….long….DRAMATIC….pauses….betweenwords….but….sometimesreallyfast” He’s so annoying. Please just put a regular host on.

Second VarietyDo This, PleaseThis podcast is always in the top ten out of 200 for various reasons and it would be nice if it could add a report that the billionaires of this country are seemingly ignorant: The need to stop outsourcing customer service to foreign countries. Bring back corporate customer service representatives to the U.S. and this specifically applies to Medicare Advantage Plans, Amazon, as well as the three major credit agencies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion—just to name a few whose CSRs are barely understandable and memorize enough English for a basic greeting and repeated apologies because of their lack of fluency in English. Plus, the U.S. is multicultural so there’s plenty of Americans who speak other languages and are quite fluent in English, too. Bringing back Customer Service Agents to America is more important than bringing back manufacturing in that a CSR can work from home and this will help provide an income to the millions of us who had to leave a lucrative job to take care of an elderly parent or for the millions on Medicaid who are home bound yet able to serve as a CSR on their home computer—or whatever peripherals a corporation could provide. Most of the millions of consumer complaints is on the topic of poor to nonexistent help from corporate Customer Service agencies located in foreign countries and the language barrier that 100% frustrates a consumer as well the person who barely understands English. It’s insane that big corporations that don’t pay taxes or are getting more kinds of tax breaks from Trump don’t give a rat’s patoot about consumers’ needs or the complete lack of privacy by outsourcing Customer Services to foreign countries. An Ai CSR still has a long way to go before it can achieve what a human customer service representative can do as Ai functions best within the parameters of frequently asked questions and needs tweaking to immediately connect to a human when requested due to questions outside AI’s FAQ programming. 5-stars in hoping someone reads this and has the ability to make positive changes that will not add trillions more to the National Debt.

fiona creightonDislike the hostsI’m not sure if the hosts think that daily listeners are stupid or what, but you don’t need to rephrase every answer that the guest gives you so that the audience understands it. We understood it when the guest said it. Stop trying to “put it in other words.”

Sky Clad GuruNo More Natalie KitroeffNatalie Katreoff does not have a voice appropriate for this content. Her flat affect gives the show an amateur quality that it never had previously. (Several months later): And she’s back. Now that they’ve made her a host I’m done. And cancelling my NYT subscription. Not everyone who is a reporter should be voicing a podcast. It’s like fingernails on a chalkboard.

JS from NYCMusktalking about his drug use is one thing but going into detail about how many kids he has seems like youre reallly just trying to take the guy down because he is pro Trump. At his worst, lets say a drug addict, he is still changing the world with his innovations and is doing more to help the world more than 99.9% of the rest pf us. Why dont you spend your time figuring out how to get your party to move past AOC, Bernie, Harris, Walz, they are lame.

개비1004The Daily podcastIt really goes deep into issues and gives a lot of background info. The reporters ask the tough questions and really do their research in order to present the information. I know I don’t always agree and wish they would ask more people to get information but seeing anti-vaxxers being upset makes me think they are doing the right kind of reporting.

honolululistenetBoredIt would be so refreshing and interesting if you were to cover stories from a more conservative point of view and stop the incessant leftist, yak, yak yak .

its just JazLosing trust in an old favoriteI used to listen to The Daily every morning — it was one of my go-to sources for clear, thoughtful reporting. They really felt like leaders of the “fourth branch of government,” helping us all make sense of the issues that shape our lives. But something has definitely changed over the past year. The tone now feels oddly soft — almost apologetic toward rising authoritarianism, hesitant to call out fascism directly. The analysis feels watered down and cautious, like they’re pulling punches. Honestly, it’s starting to make me wonder who this show is really for now… because it doesn’t feel like it’s for everyday people trying to understand what’s really happening. It’s disappointing to say the least.

Mr(s). AliceTerribleThe Daily is spreading false info about COVID vaccines. This is dangerous and irresponsible. Myocarditis in vaccinated kids is real. Stop denying the truth
-
johnsoncdjGood for Liberal PerspectivesI enjoy this show quite a lot. However, at times it borders on MSNBC. For example, today’s show on the change in recommendations for vaccines for children and pregnant women claims they are entirely politically motivated and anti-science but provides no evidence of the efficacy of the vaccines in these populations. I’m not taking sides on the issue, but if the determination of whether something is good or bad is based on the extent to which a cumbersome process is followed seems flawed. That is often the case with this show, which can’t seem to find a conservative point of view with which it agrees. However, it is entertaining, the hosts are interesting, and it considers important issues.
-
Happy footballerThe Daily is going softGenerally a well researched show, but I’m noticing a lot of frog boiling passivity around issues where norms are being cavalierly broken. The RFK episode from today is a perfect example. Barbaro’s injections seem to validate a clear decadence in norms for the sake of presenting both sides, whether or not one (or both) is acting in good faith. Make The Daily a truth beacon again.

IMSUNNYThis is my favorite podcastI love the change for Sundays Today’s was excellent

Avid_Listener_Really lost the plotI’ve been a daily listener for years and years and have found myself increasingly disappointed. I’ve had to turn to other sources (shoutout NPR) for real news and reporting on what is currently happening. For example, this week we get a critique on Joe Biden (who has not been in power for nearly 6 months) being old, and a republican interviewing the vice president. No real coverage on what is happening/ “what we should know today.” Disappointed is an understatement.
-
SamawhaaatBlatantly biasedWhen I saw the topic of today’s episode - about the young Jewish couple who was murdered by an anti-Semitic, hate-fueled “free Palestine” terrorist, I thought the focus would be on their loss of life and the appalling prevalence and acceptance of anti-semitism. Instead, they were glazed over and Israelis and Jews were essentially blamed for this. Or at least the Israeli government was. Truly disgusting. Goodbye subscription.
-
Eamg771Justifying MurderI don’t believe there was an episode on Asian politics when Asian people were being murdered or any room for killing Russian people in this country because someone disagrees with the invasion of Ukraine and yet such a genuine exploration on how the politics in Israel could lead to more murders - with the acceptance of such a reality as if that is the natural consequence of politics we don’t agree with - that some people of that nationality are going to be needlessly murdered. Maybe at this point stop normalizing threats of violence and now actual violence against people because of their country’s policies.

Love snowboard gameWe have to pay now??!I have been a faithful listener and lover of this podcast for YEARS and now suddenly we’re being forced to pay to be able to have access to your content?? Every time I turn around I’m being forced to shell out more $$$ to continue listening to content I love. I don’t have unlimited funds to do that with. This change is super disappointing ya’ll. It’s not right. I have stopped following your podcast for this reason. You are a monolithic size and highly trusted entity in the news world. Please don’t do this to your faithful listeners.

FanaticalModerateConflictedHighly value and enjoy the quality and depth, but I was told it would be 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, ready by 6am. There is not a single episode in my queue that is 20 min. Under 30 min is understandable, but many are much longer than that. Tends to be some repetition, lengthy lead up to questions, and a penchant for talking slowly (perhaps for dramatic effect?).
-
ShandouilleNormalizingI can’t tell you how few of your podcasts I listened to anymore because I find your reporting and you’re framing of an issue absolutely contemptible. Talking to JD Vance about faith?? Give me a break! Call fascism what it is speak out, find your balls and speak the truth!
-
D!mahNo more refugees…John Eligon makes mention of more pressing issues in Africa here, including Sudan — and it reminded me… wasn’t there a dedicated Sudan episode promised? Barbaro said something about it at the end of an earlier episode. I wonder what happened to it. I hope you do report/release it and help shed light on this important and largely ignored devastation.
-
debllstlUsed to be a Good Reliable PodcastI liked this podcast and trusted the information presented for years. The focus on President Biden’s age, and now his cancer diagnosis, has been overly judgmental. For several years now, you have been biased against President Biden, a decent and very relatable man. Trump is a corrupt dangerous liar. There is no comparison!! Trump is seeking vengeance and destruction, and you help Trump with negative speculation about our former President. I lowered my rating from 5 stars to 3 because The Daily is mostly ignoring Trump’s unfitness and dementia. Trump’s ramblings make no sense, but you are still focused on Biden’s declining health.
-
A Ro LLRYet another double standardSo I guess tomorrow’s episode will be a thorough round table discussion focusing on the current president’s complete mental decline and dementia (add his ignorance and corruption for good measure). Alas, I know that will never happen.
-
Omz2302Dwindling efforts and relatabilityThis show used to expand on NYT headlines and explore investigative reports further. However, it has now devolved into a bunch of talking heads - all of which work for NYT. Somehow people are supposed to believe their interpretations because working for the NYT gives them credibility. When they do have a guest, it’s typically a “man on the street” interview (sometimes I swear one of the journalist was like “I have a friend who has a kid with autism, I can interview her!). NYT has also added paywall blocks to everything on their website. Even if you want to engage in discussion about her episode, you have to sign up for a NYT subscription. It’s a shameless money grab. Lastly, the funny thing is they will never reflect on their own enabling of certain forms of disinformation - the Biden episodes being one of them.

Authenticly JasmineSouth AfricaGlad that you guys are elevating this story. I think it’s important to remember the brutality with which White South Africans stole land from the Black indigenous South Africans.
-
podtownreviewDon’t beat around the bushI’ve been listening since its inception and think it’s an important show. There have been a lot of scripted interviews recently. I understand they’re guiding the listener through to a conclusion, but wish they would use the platform to take a strong stance and say what is blatantly corrupt or unacceptable. Unprecedented times call for serious and tough reporting.
-
bReal89Biased and so many false statementsGreat podcast if you like to hear blatant untruths. There is so much misinformation in each episode that I’ve listened to. Complete disregard for factual information.
-
The Vampire Squid ChroniclesGreat podcastMaybe at least mention the elimination of Palestine and its people. Seems odd not to comment on this.
-
SunshinecatxOpinionated & one sidedThe episode on Afrikaaner’s was so editorialized and only partially factual. The violence there is significant and the law is the law no matter what the journalist said may or may not happen by the government. It’s evident you all hate when white people are treated with respect - killing them and taking their land and promoting backs because their black is not DEI. Wake up New York Times.
